With many other people during lockdown, I am counting down the days until I can book a Spa day with my friends and relax in peace and comfort. Until then, I am trying to create my Spa moments at home and finding time to relax as much as possible. As other home working and home-schooling parents, getting 5 minutes in the day is quite tricky, so I have been forcing myself to take time.

Setting the scene

Well, I do not have a spa facility at home (although I do wish I did) but I have the next best thing: my favourite rolltop bath. I set the bathroom up with candles, a little relaxing music (I found a good “Home Spa” playlist on Amazon Alexa). If I close my eyes, I could be in my favourite Spa! I find all the products I will need and put them within arm’s reach and run a nice hot bubbly bath.

Face mask

I have no idea why by when I think of a Spa day, I think of a face mask. This Decleor Clay and Herbal Cleansing Mask is perfect, you can Purchase from Scentsational. It is a great price at £18 and full of a fruit cocktail and plant extracts for a double effect. It is a creamy mask, suitable for all skin types and it gently purifies. I love the fact it clears your complexion, my complexion has been quite bad since lockdown as I have suffered with anxiety and stress.

Bath bomb

As you know, I am a HUGE Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics fan and I adore their bath bombs. My favourite so far is the Twilight bath bomb, it is soothing and calming. I love the blue and pink bubbles that fill the bathtub too! This particular bath bomb is sure to help you sleep too as it is full of essential oils that will help you get ready for a good night’s rest. Lavender is a soothing, mind cleaning and calming fragrance. The Benzoin and Tonka make you think about a milky caramel malt drink too.

Hair treatment

Apparently Hair Masks has been googled a lot during lockdown! It’s really important to look after your hair even though we cannot get to the hair salons. Philip Kingsley have a great range of hair products, I love the Elasticizer. It really deep conditions your hair. I apply it whilst I am in the bath and quickly wash it off at the end of the bath (sometimes I jump in the shower to finish off my hair routine). It strengthens, repairs and hydrates your hair. I leave it in my hair for approximately 1 hour and then rinse it off, shower and condition like normal. They designed this product for Audrey Hepburn to make her hair have a movie star bounce! WOW.

Bath rack

I have the best Bath rack, courtesy of a wonderful friend for a birthday present a couple of years ago, it is brilliant as it has the holder for your iPad, iPhone, Wine glass, cup, soap dish and still more space for other items. It’s still going strong and I use it almost 4 times a week. It was from Dunelm. You can put your Spa treatments in a line and work your way through them, if you can stand a long hot bath. I could spend hours in the bath!

Then I just sit back and relax. Work my way through my choice of treatments, maybe do a bit of reading or a logic/sudoku puzzle and try to forget I am not in an actual Spa for an hour or two.

Wonder Balm

After I get out of the bath, before I get dressed, I use Vemel Wonder Balm, it is amazing. The Wonder Balm soothes and nourishes the skin, it’s great for any family skin emergencies. I have been using it on my legs and arms as I have been in the sun quite a lot it helps to replenish my skin and leaves it feeling smooth and moisturised once again. My skin has been feeling really soft and smooth since I have been using this. You only need a teeny amount too, it covers a wide range with just a small amount.
