We had a quote for new worktops, it was ยฃ1,000 and we simply do not have that right now. So, I found a vinyl covering called DC Fix that covers our old worktop perfectly and creates a new look. Well, this is the most exciting project I have ever worked on – it started on day 4 of moving into our house! We finished the kiddies bedrooms last week and I did a reveal of Isla’s bedroom makeover in time for her birthday. This week it’s our bathroom. It is not 100% finished but enough to WOW at it!
We seem to have done a lot this month, month 2, we have changed a lot. Some things just a little and some drastic changes too. The bathroom is coming along. Since the update last week, we have booked in to have our kitchen floor tiled and also our bathroom is being plastered. So this weekend we have to get all the tiles off of the bathroom wall. We have spent our time doing a bit of gardening and sorting over the past few weeks. I have also made a start on my test kitchen cupboard door with an undercoat layer. VIEW the POST
I cannot believe how quickly this month has gone. It is absolutely crazy. I keep forgetting to log what we have been doing with just before photos. That’s the bit I needed the most. So, our first month in our new home and we have decorated main rooms, have the cooker installed, started the bathroom and nearly finished the dining room. We have done a lot since our last weekly update.
Woohoo! The cooker is in. We had the electrician out all day yesterday and he had to install a cooker line from the fuse board. This house didn't have one before. We now have a nice little cooker on/off switch and a rather powerful electric fan oven. VIEW the POST
It has been a slow week for renovations compared to week 2. However, we have got a few things lined up and ready to go now. It's amazing how difficult the logistics of everything can seem at times - for example in order to get my bath I have to do 5 things before hand. Week 2 of making our home has been awful. Completely tiring and stressful. We completely underestimated how much stuff we had in the old house and just how long it would take to get it from A to B – without a van! Unfortunately we spent all weekend apart whilst Hubby was sorting the old house and I was sorting the new house and we are completely busy for the next couple of weekends – so it’s been a bit slow!
It has been an extremely busy first week in our new home, we really wanted to make the most of it. And we did! We have been non-stop working, almost around the clock and we have got so much done. We are really happy with the hard work. I thought I would do some before and after photos to document week 1. I love making our home, it's a lot of fun. VIEW the POST
