🩷 My beautiful family…

I love this photo, it’s not often we get a photo of the 4 of us. The children are growing up so quickly, it’s really important to me to capture these memories. Noah will be taller than me soon (I have heels on in this photo).

This photo was taken the other weekend at my cousin-in-laws wedding. It was a wonderful day and the sun was shining.

Have you enjoyed your half term with your familam so far?

🍩 Anyone else looking 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 to some sunshine and a break from routine next week? ⁣
⁣
I have officially completed the academic part of my 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲. I have to now wait until mid July to get results. I’ve never been so nervous. But I’m glad it’s done. I nearly gave up about 20 times over the last 5 months when we lost the pups 🐾 , but I kept going… ⁣
⁣
So, I’ve now got half term to relax and enjoy some well earned time with my 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘮. Goodness knows the hours I’ve lost spending time studying over the last 3 years. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 & I’m looking forward to sunny adventures this Summer.⁣

This photo was from our trip to 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲. It’s a lovely memory of a happy holiday. I’m hoping we’ll make lots of new memories and big smiles over the coming weeks.⁣

Very proud of my little man cub today… whose not so little anymore. He had 2 adult teeth extracted this morning, in preparation for a fixed brace fitting.

I knew what was coming to a certain extent but poor Noah didn’t. Thankfully the dentist knew the right tricks, he asked Noah to close his eyes so Noah couldn’t see the ghastly needle. 😱 Mummy on the other hand nearly passed out!

Then watching the dentist do a tug of war with 2 of Noah’s teeth was horrifying too. The force to pull out a tooth is quite considerable. I hadn’t really thought about it before. But the crunching sounds were 🤢.

He didn’t faint, albeit he nearly did and he hardly complained at all throughout the day. He is super brave and made me very proud.

It’s horrible seeing your babies in pain. The worst part is Noah has to have 2 more teeth removed in a few weeks & he’ll know what is going to happen.😱

Noah said he’s going to be poorly on that day! Haha!

A not so nice story but I tried to make it less gory for those that hate dentist or are just squeamish.

Creating an amazing and functional office from home

Creating an amazing and functional office from home

I have loved doing our house up, transforming it from the day we moved in and turning it into our family home. When the Pandemic hit we needed to adapt our house to suit our new needs; working from home and so we built 2 new offices. An office from home has slightly different requirements than a corporate office, but we needed to make sure we utilised the existing floorplan. Here is what we did and some before and after photos on making the spaces. VIEW the POST

Our affordable office conversion – before and after

Our affordable office conversion – before and after

So, back in January of this year we were told that an extension to add a new bedroom to the house would be tens of thousands of pounds. It was only when our mortgage advisor said "Why don't you do a garage conversion it's a lot of cheaper?" that we considered renovating our garage. So, this is our before and after for an affordable office conversion for Hubby to work from home. VIEW the POST

How to re-organise your home after home schooling

After setting up our home school last year; pencil pots and reams of paper at the ready we need to regain our home back. The dining table is for eating on after all, not a school table. So here are some tips on how to re-organise your home after home schooling, we needed to sort everything out anyway in preparation for our new offices which are starting this month. How to update your cloakroom on a DIY budget

How to update your cloakroom on a DIY budget

Yes I know a cloakroom is a polite way of saying the toilet room. When we moved into our first home, we knew there would be a lot of work to do as it had been occupied by an elderly couple and the interior was possibly over 30 years old. We did a lot of work in the bedrooms and main living spaces initially, our cloakroom was not so much a priority. So, I managed to update it and this is what I did to redecorate our cloakroom on a DIY budget. VIEW the POST

Noah’s amazing boy bedroom makeover – before and after

It has been over 2 years since we moved in to our first family home and we finally got round to adding a splash of colour to the walls. We started in Noah’s room and I thought I would give him a boy bedroom makeover. He loves his blues and greens, football and LEGO. So I tried to think of all these things whilst I styled his room. I still cannot believe what his room looked like when we first moved in, see the photos below for the before and afters! He loves it though and it’s nice for him to have his space, even if it is a little on the small side.

How to remove pet urine and unpleasant smells from the carpet?

All dogs, without exception, have a specific smell. Their skin produces a secret, wet hair also emits a not very pleasant aroma, so it is recommended to bathe the animal regularly, treat it with tick and flea repellent, and wipe it dry.  I’m not going to go on about how we need to train and treat an animal, because every pet owner already knows about this. Today we have prepared several carpet cleaning tips on how to remove pet urine from the carpet, as well as the natural animal smell.

Keeping a World Map log of our family travel

Keeping a World Map log of our family travel

When Hubby and I got married, I said I would travel the world with him and that we would do it with the kiddies too. Hubby took a year out and travelled before we got together and I wanted to explore it, we just had jobs and then kids. It got harder to do. We are still on a mission to do this, it's just a lifelong event. We keep a log of our adventures on our World Map. It's such an inspiring canvas to have on the wall. VIEW the POST

My top tips when doing DIY at home

I have had a lotttt of feedback about our kitchen worktop makeover. Making our family home – Kitchen worktops

Making our family home – Kitchen worktops

I posted my kitchen worktops makeover on the Facebook Frenchic Group and I have received so many questions I thought I would answer them here. We had a quote for new worktops, it was £1,000 and we simply do not have that right now. So, I found a vinyl covering called DC Fix that covers our old worktop perfectly and creates a new look. All for under £50. This post details how I did it and what you will need. VIEW the POST
