Spring isn’t far away and I have already started thinking about my new wardrobe; below are my top 5 tips to getting the best Spring wardrobe from staple items to must have accessories. I know I am 40 now but that doesn’t mean I can’t be on trend and love a bit of fashion! Check out my tips and let me know if you have any more in the comments.

1. Clear out unwanted items

I have become completely obsessed with Vinted lately. I have been snapping photos of items I have either never worn, or things I have worn once or twice and I am posting them on Vinted. I made £50 just before Christmas and now I am going to clear out some more unwanted items, to make space for the Spring wardrobe! This is a good place to start as it gives your memory a little jog of what clothes you already have. I always forget what I have in the back of the wardrobes!

2. Update your jewellery

It is really important to update your jewellery, as well as your clothes, for the new season ahead. I love these rings from Daisy London; they are pretty and elegant. I love the colours and the sea shells are perfect for this time of year. Silver and White Gold go with every outfit too, making them a perfect complement to any Springtime outfit.

3. Get your staple items

For me the staple items are; a good pair of skinny, high waist, jeans and I usually get the shape and lift jeans from NEXT as they are so comfortable. I now have these in 2 different colours because I love them so much.I live in hats at this time of year as it is always a little chilly, even though the sun shines, I buy a new hat every year. I also have a roll neck jumper, jumper dress and a pair of good leggings, like these Love Leggings, for Spring. These are the items that my outfits usually revolve around in Spring.

4. Don’t forget your footwear

So, I have my outfit staples sorted and now for the footwear. I have a pair of new Clarks boots for Winter/Spring and I have a pair of comfortable FitFlop trainers from last year. They are my go to footwear choices for this time of year. The boots go with skinny jeans, leggings and tights / dress combos. The trainers work with the leggings and jeans too for if I want a more casual outfit. I wear these with either my Winter coat if it is cold, coatigan or my double breasted coat.

5. Check out latest trends

This is a must have and I have put this one last because you can spend hours searching through the latest trends. Take to your favourite shops website and see what is popular and what is in their “trend” section, if they have one. The Spring 2023 fashion trends, according to Marie Claire, are cargo trousers, capes, dresses with holes in to see your skin, all the denim and florals! I also know that stacking rings are on trend too, make sure you have yours ready for Spring.

What would your top tips be for getting your Spring wardrobe ready this year? I would love to know in the comments below or on social media! Check out my other fashion and lifestyle posts.

Jeans are a must for me too, I like to have several thin layers in Spring so I can easily adjust to be at a comfortable temperature!

I love Daisy but especially their actual daisy collection. It reminds me so much of Spring and seeing the grass in the park covered with them. Can’t wait till it’s warmer and I can get out of my trainers and wear more varied footwear. I’m constantly wearing either boots or trainers and it’s getting so tedious.
