We are going on our first long-haul flight with the kiddies soon and I have been gathering lots of activities for entertaining the children at the airport. It seems ridiculous but spending around 4 hours at Heathrow Terminal 5 needs to be done efficiently and keep those kiddies happy.
I have heard a lot of rumours about Dubai, some I know are just that: rumours. But, some I have no idea about and whether they are literally just Dubai myths. I am tasking myself to find out if they are myths or if indeed it is true, either before we go to Dubai or whilst we are out there. I am fascinated about this place and I cannot wait to explore it all with my little family and some of our best friends.
If you are looking for a family holiday with a difference, I am hoping to offer a few alternatives to the traditional package holiday, which can become monotonous after a few years. A family holiday should be a time to spend some quality time together, plus it should be an all-inclusive package that allows all the family to engage in their favourite activities. So here are my family travel ideas for 2020:
We do not really get to go away together, just the two of us. We have so many responsibilities that it’s quite impossible to get away most of the time; dogs, cat, kids, football, work! The list goes on. But sometimes the worlds align and we escape to the country. Literally. We spent a beautiful weekend in Suffolk, courtesy of Suffolk Cottage Holidays, to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
As the children are getting older, they are more capable of walking a little further and walking harder routes. Noah managed Snowdon when he was about 5 and more recently, we all conquered Mam Tor. We love exploring and so it got me thinking about my travel list and walking holidays around the world – not just in England. So, these are my top 5 places to go on a family walking holiday.
We had a fabulous time in Crete at Kiani Beach Resort, I know I have said it before but we did have the best time. We have a lot of happy memories and also we learnt a lot of new things too. Including all about a Greek Easter, their traditions and how different it is to the English Easter celebrations.
If you have been following my Instagram account, you will have seen from the photos and Insta stories that we recently took a trip to Crete, staying in the SeaCrete hotels. We haven’t been abroad as a family for over 18 months and we were all very excited. I love flying and exploring new places. The last holiday we went on was to Greece, we went to Kos and Noah/Isla had the dreaded chicken pox. We loved Greece though and couldn’t wait to see Crete.
Camping is a great way of experiencing the outdoors. It’s also a budget-friendly way of vacationing with your family. Travelling costs are quite high, something that may leave you wondering whether you can even afford to vacation with your family this year. Nonetheless, those much-desired trips to Disney World or Hawaii are not the only great way to vacation.
