“February is the border between Winter and Spring” Terri Guillemets.

I saw this quote recently, on someone’s insta square, and for the life of me I cannot remember where I saw it. But I love it.

It’s such a transformative month and I get all excited seeing the new buds sprouting above the surface. New beginnings.

With each new Spring comes new beginnings. New blooms in the garden, new colours and new weather.

I’m looking forward to many more walks in the Wintery Sun & filling my lungs with fresh air.

What do you love about February?

Today marks a month since we lost our little Rambo. We’re still trying to heal but, as all the advice said, it is getting a little lighter to carry the grief each day.

Isla still isn’t sleeping very well and when it gets towards the end of the evening, we’re all a little out of sorts. Simply, we miss him so much.

I’m going to brave it and write a blog dedication to my little best bud, I haven’t felt brave enough yet. He was such a lovely dog, also a bit weird & funny, it will be nice to share his stories.

I love this photo of the 3 of them snuggling. This was just before Christmas. This is quite often what view I would have behind my desk… my little snugglers!

Do you take loads of photos of your pets snuggled in different ways?

The Winter Sun has been so beautiful over the last few days. I think today we’re going to see a change to cloudy skies.

I love this photo. The low sun and the kids having a little adventure. I spend a lot of my time watching them interact. I guess that’s a big part of parenthood. Learning and growing.

Have you been making the most of the weather?

A little corner of my office… I spend most of my week here so it’s nice to pretty it up sometimes. I even managed to blur out the water marks on the windows (they need a good clean).

My tax return has been submitted and my assignment has too! Quite a day for submissions and I’m relieved. I’m in the last year of uni and I’m so grateful for the support I’ve had to complete it. I am focussed on finishing, which is giving me the mindset to get it done.

What did you do today that your relieved about?

Daddy = “Kids please don’t try and walk on the ice”….
Kids = ☝🏻

They kept edging towards the pond, “I just want to break the ice”. They did make me laugh. And yes, they ignored the instructions. But they did only tap the ice with their toes.

It made for a little adventure this afternoon. I love this Winter sun!

Do your kids love standing on frozen puddles?

The frost is so beautiful 🥶 I love the days where it is frosty but super sunny. The sun was beaming into my office today. It made my heart happy.

This weather is definitely snuggle & binge watch TV shows kind of weather. I’ve started watching Bloodlines on Netflix. I started it as I just loved “Judy” from Dead to Me and thought I’d give this a try. It’s quite gripping & I’ve not been too good at predicting the storyline so far. Which usually I can!

Do you have any Wintery snuggle shows that I need to add to my watch list?

APH making our holiday less stressful and more exciting

APH making our holiday less stressful and more exciting

It is no secret that booking our family holiday to Spain last month was very stressful. Would our flight get cancelled? Will we get to the airport on time? Will the prices suddenly jump up? The market seemed so unstable that I was a little more anxious that normal. We have used APH before and so I decided we had to use them again, it takes the stress out of "getting to the airport on time" and worry about the car left behind. The kids also thought it was very exciting! VIEW the POST

Well, that’s my take on it anyway and that’s exactly what we did up in Sheffield this week at the ibis Budget Sheffield Centre – St Mary’s Gate hotel. Family included the dogs here too, which was amazing. Here’s what we thought of the hotel and some fab family travel tips for your visit.

Entertaining the children at the airport #familytravel

Entertaining the children at the airport #familytravel

We are going on our first long-haul flight with the kiddies soon and I have been gathering lots of activities for entertaining the children at the airport. It seems ridiculous but spending around 4 hours at Heathrow Terminal 5 needs to be done efficiently and keep those kiddies happy.  VIEW the POST

Things to consider when flying with the family

Things to consider when flying with the family

When flying with the family I have a few anxieties, needless to say the current position across the world is not helping me at all. We have booked flights to Dubai and we are staying with friends and yes, we have travel insurance. But I am still full of fear. I thought writing out my worries and how I have overcome them may help other families in similar positions.  VIEW the POST

How to start planning your travel packing?

Yes, that’s right! I said plan your travel packing. I always have to plan what I am packing when we are going on holiday. Otherwise, it gets to the day we leave and I am frantically running around the house finding things that I had forgotten. So, I start to plan ahead and hopefully avoid that mad rush. I am quite an anxious holiday maker anyway so this takes one more thing off my mind.

5 Dubai myths I am going to bust

5 Dubai myths I am going to bust

I have heard a lot of rumours about Dubai, some I know are just that: rumours. But, some I have no idea about and whether they are literally just Dubai myths. I am tasking myself to find out if they are myths or if indeed it is true, either before we go to Dubai or whilst we are out there. I am fascinated about this place and I cannot wait to explore it all with my little family and some of our best friends. VIEW the POST

If you are looking for a family holiday with a difference, I am hoping to offer a few alternatives to the traditional package holiday, which can become monotonous after a few years. Our family holiday to Potters Resort #travel

We loved our trip to Potters Resort, it is situated at Hopton-on-Sea which is a place I hold close. We went to Hopton-on-sea every year with my grandparents. We loved it. So going back, I knew would be memorable. Not just because of the nostalgia but also because Potters Resort is just amazing. What do you expect from a family holiday: good food, good accommodation and entertainment/activities for the children. We had all of this in abundance at Potters Resort.

Our romantic break to Suffolk #travel

Our romantic break to Suffolk #travel

We do not really get to go away together, just the two of us. We have so many responsibilities that it's quite impossible to get away most of the time; dogs, cat, kids, football, work! The list goes on. But sometimes the worlds align and we escape to the country. Literally. We spent a beautiful weekend in Suffolk, courtesy of Suffolk Cottage Holidays, to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. VIEW the POST

What to pack when travelling abroad with the kids

I get asked a lot about what I take with me when we are out with the kids, travelling abroad is no different. We still needs wipes, first aid kits and that all important spares of underwear for both children! But there are some things that we would take now that we didn't know about when the children were younger, or simply they are not needed any longer. VIEW the POST

We haven’t been abroad as a family for over 18 months and we were all very excited. I love flying and exploring new places. The last holiday we went on was to Greece, we went to Kos and Noah/Isla had the dreaded chicken pox. We loved Greece though and couldn’t wait to see Crete.  VIEW the POST
