On the eve of thanksgiving it’s definitely got my thinking about what I’m #grateful for. These 5 are at the top of my list, of course so is my cat, I absolutely love my familam.

My babies have done me proud this year. They’ve shown resilience, compassion, kindness and above all patience. Someone said to me today that because I am all of those things: I will embed this into my kids foundations. I’d never thought about this before.

It made me feel proud. Of myself and Hubby. We’re raising these somewhat feral tiny humans into well grounded and thoughtful people.

They embrace everything that is thrown at them and for that I will always be grateful.

What are you feeling grateful for at the moment?

On the eve of thanksgiving...

Although you probably wouldn’t think it, to look at me because I always dress quite conservatively, I love a #pattern. Bold. Striking. Daring.

When we bought this house last year I knew I wanted bold flooring where possible and so far it’s going well. This is our beautiful flooring from @harveymaria - it’s a luxury vinyl tile that just looks amazing and feels nice to walk on too. This particular pattern is “Lattice Tarn” from the Dee Hardwicke range.

This room is the utility and sees a lot of traffic throughout the day. Muddy football boots... muddy paw prints... dog food... dirty laundry... the list goes on. But, it is so easy to wipe clean that it always looks brand new again.

I can’t wait to show it off properly and do a before and after reels of our utility room. I’ve also got some shots of how it was installed (professionally made I add).

It’s turned a room I didn’t care about into a room I love. I might just get an armchair for the utility room next, so I can sit and stare at it a little more!

#gifted. I was gifted this flooring from Harvey Maria. I’ve tagged @harveymaria so please do check out their other fantastic patterns.

Anyone else feel like their bones are blocks of ice? Or is it just me. Yesterday was so mild, yet I still had my coat and bobble hat on. Today felt like I woke up in Antarctica.

I really feel the #cold and I’ve noticed that more so whilst I’ve been working from home. I think the difference in the office is that I walked around more. Walked for meetings, coffee and to speak to people. Nowadays I click to meetings and speaking to people... I wish I could click for coffee too 🙈. Lazy!!!

So, my plan is to do more walking throughout the day. Even if I walk around the house, picking up the 98,000 odd socks that get thrown around, in between meetings; should warm me up a bit.

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

Despite my frozeness today I did enjoy seeing the frost this morning. It was just beautiful. The crispy autumn floor and mist across the field, it looked magical. And made me feel quite Christmassy!

Speaking of which... just over a month until Christmas 😱🎄🎅🏼🧑🏻‍🎄🤶🏻🎁 Whose ready?

I’ve not even started yet...🤭

Isla has been busy this weekend... she had a queue of customers lining up for their hair appointments. She’s been busy since this lockdown started 🤭

On a more serious note, she really does love this set from @vippetsofficial . She spent ages combing their hair, styling and making them sparkle.

This set has an interactive sink, that pumps water out onto the dolls hair. It has a styling chair in the middle with a hidden drawer of accessories. And, the main surprise, the glitterizer (hair dryer dome) at the far end. You put your doll into the glitterizer and it spins around allowing the glitter to fall over the hair. (You use a special glue on the hair before hand).

This is the VIP Pets Hair Salon play set and we think it’s perfect for any child who loves playing with hair. A great Christmas gift! From @zuru.toys and @vippetsofficial

We went for a walk this afternoon, without the dogs, just us hooomans! It was strange not walking with the pattering of paws, however we did walk a lot quicker. Daddy took the dogs out this morning, they can’t manage more than 1 big walk a day now 🐾

We walked a route that involves this rather huge hill, you can see all the surrounding villages on a clear day. That sunshine was just beautiful beaming down on us. It painted the #landscape a golden colour. Everything looked so beautiful.

We managed a 2 hour walk, well just shy of, considering the kiddies complained beforehand (and we agreed a half an hour walk) I was impressed. Once they’re out they have fun and enjoy it. The thought of it doesn’t appeal to them though.

That’s how I feel about the ironing! 🤣

Did anyone else get out in the Autumnal sunshine?

We went for a walk...

I love this photo. Not only because of the beautiful blue skies and fluffy clouds. The sunshine sparkling on the top of the water. And, the #boats that look like their lining up in their best formation.

But, for the fact that the kiddies are hiding a huge chain that had one end going into the sand, where the kiddies were standing, and the other attached to a boat.

They pulled the chain with all their might. Much to the amusement of Daddy and I, the kids believed that every time they pulled: they were pulling the boats towards us.

They were in-fact doing nothing of the kind and it was the tide making the boats move. Which looked like they were moving towards us.

They spent a good half an hour trying to pull a boat in. Obviously it didn’t work.

It was so lovely to soak up the scene though. It’s such a beautiful view. I really love how it all fits together and the mountain hugging the edge of the water.

It would make for a very beautiful painting.

With less than 5 weeks to Christmas Day.... yes 5!! I’m starting to get organised. I have my Christmas lists on the go, wrapping paper stocking up, crafts at the ready and my 2020 Christmas mug of choice (of course).

I think we’ll be putting the tree up soon, I want to wait but I’m not sure I can! It makes the house feel so cosy, with the dim twinkling lights and cute decorations.

I LOVE nutcrackers and I get an addition every year. This year it’s my mug. It is in the photo but you can’t see it too clearly. I’ll show him off don’t you worry!

I am also so excited to announce that my Christmas advent competitions will be back this year, from 1st December, I have prizes worth over hundreds of pounds to give away! Make sure you follow #12daysofconstantchristmas so you don’t miss out...

Well, that's my take on it anyway and that's exactly what we did up in Sheffield this week at the ibis Budget Sheffield Centre – St Mary’s Gate hotel. Family included the dogs here too, which was amazing. Here's what we thought of the hotel and some fab family travel tips for your visit. VIEW the POST

Things to consider when flying with the family

Things to consider when flying with the family

When flying with the family I have a few anxieties, needless to say the current position across the world is not helping me at all. We have booked flights to Dubai and we are staying with friends and yes, we have travel insurance. But I am still full of fear. I thought writing out my worries and how I have overcome them may help other families in similar positions.  VIEW the POST

How to start planning your travel packing?

How to start planning your travel packing?

Yes, that's right! I said plan your travel packing. I always have to plan what I am packing when we are going on holiday. Otherwise, it gets to the day we leave and I am frantically running around the house finding things that I had forgotten. So, I start to plan ahead and hopefully avoid that mad rush. I am quite an anxious holiday maker anyway so this takes one more thing off my mind. VIEW the POST

5 Dubai myths I am going to bust

I have heard a lot of rumours about Dubai, some I know are just that: rumours. But, some I have no idea about and whether they are literally just Dubai myths. I am tasking myself to find out if they are myths or if indeed it is true, either before we go to Dubai or whilst we are out there. I am fascinated about this place and I cannot wait to explore it all with my little family and some of our best friends.

Tips on how to plan for your dream holiday

Tips on how to plan for your dream holiday

It is no secret we love travelling as a family, albeit we do not go away a lot. We have been lucky to have some fantastic opportunities for family holidays over the years. This year is no exception as we are off to Dubai very soon. We are so excited. It got me thinking about how do you plan for that dream holiday? Such big decisions and a ball of excitement, it can hard to concentrate. Well, that’s how I feel.  VIEW the POST

Great family travel ideas for 2020

If you are looking for a family holiday with a difference, I am hoping to offer a few alternatives to the traditional package holiday, which can become monotonous after a few years. A family holiday should be a time to spend some quality time together, plus it should be an all-inclusive package that allows all the family to engage in their favourite activities. So here are my family travel ideas for 2020:

Our trip to Hemsby beach holiday park #travel

Our family holiday to Potters Resort #travel

We loved our trip to Potters Resort, it is situated at Hopton-on-Sea which is a place I hold close. We went to Hopton-on-sea every year with my grandparents. We loved it. So going back, I knew would be memorable. Not just because of the nostalgia but also because Potters Resort is just amazing. What do you expect from a family holiday: good food, good accommodation and entertainment/activities for the children. We had all of this in abundance at Potters Resort. VIEW the POST

Our romantic break to Suffolk #travel

We do not really get to go away together, just the two of us. We have so many responsibilities that it’s quite impossible to get away most of the time; dogs, cat, kids, football, work! The list goes on. But sometimes the worlds align and we escape to the country. Literally. We spent a beautiful weekend in Suffolk, courtesy of Suffolk Cottage Holidays, to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.

5 places on my wishlist for a family walking holiday #Travel

As the children are getting older, they are more capable of walking a little further and walking harder routes. Noah managed Snowdon when he was about 5 and more recently, we all conquered Mam Tor. We love exploring and so it got me thinking about my travel list and walking holidays around the world – not just in England. So, these are my top 5 places to go on a family walking holiday.

Planning a stress free family trip to Phuket

Over the years, as the children have got older, we have realised quite how stressful planning a trip abroad can be. Everything from worrying about the cots when the children were babies, to what activities there are on offer as they get older. There are so many things to think about so I thought I would capture a few helpful tips and my chosen location is Phuket (it's on my bucket list). VIEW the POST

I get asked a lot about what I take with me when we are out with the kids, travelling abroad is no different. How to avoid the panic of getting to the airport on time

I do not get anxious about many things. When it comes to flying I absolutely love it, I get far too excited and cannot contain myself. I love watching the planes all take off, trying to work out which plane is ours and clock watching until the gates open. I do, however, have one fear when it comes to flying and that is getting to the airport on time. After all of the issues I have had with booking the flights, I do not need to add to this list.
