You’ve heard of “Staycation”, well new for Summer 2020, I bring you the “Famcation“. The act of stay-cationing with family, somewhere to explore and have adventures. Well, that’s my take on it anyway and that’s exactly what we did up in Sheffield this week at the ibis Budget Sheffield Centre – St Mary’s Gate hotel. Family included the dogs here too, which was amazing. Here’s what we thought of the hotel and some fab family travel tips for your visit.
Yes, that’s right! I said plan your travel packing. I always have to plan what I am packing when we are going on holiday. Otherwise, it gets to the day we leave and I am frantically running around the house finding things that I had forgotten. So, I start to plan ahead and hopefully avoid that mad rush. I am quite an anxious holiday maker anyway so this takes one more thing off my mind.
When we stayed at Kiani Beach Resort in Crete, we had such a fabulous time. Not only because Crete is absolutely gorgeous, but also because everything about the resort was just perfect. When it’s a nice resort you can relax better as a family. Our family room, superior loft, was just impeccable and gave us so much space as a family.
We loved our trip to Potters Resort, it is situated at Hopton-on-Sea which is a place I hold close. We went to Hopton-on-sea every year with my grandparents. We loved it. So going back, I knew would be memorable. Not just because of the nostalgia but also because Potters Resort is just amazing. What do you expect from a family holiday: good food, good accommodation and entertainment/activities for the children. We had all of this in abundance at Potters Resort.
My Mum has just got back from a cruise and it reminded me of when we went on our family cruise in the Mediterranean. There are so many aspects to cruises that I hadn’t considered until I conferred with Mum whilst looking over photos. With so many things to think about I thought I would pull some advice together and I hope it helps if you are looking on a family cruise holiday next year.
We were very lucky to receive a weekend break at Landal Darwin Forest (by Landal UK), up on the outskirts of the beautiful Peak District. We stayed in a fantastic and luxury lodge which had its very own hot tub – just for us. Heaven! There is so much to do onsite we never had a dull moment and that was despite the rainy weather in July.
We had an amazing holiday in Crete over Easter, where we were completely spoilt by SeaCrete Hotels at Kiani Beach Resort. It was from here that we went on two excursions and hired a car from Kalives Travel to explore the beautiful island.
I have made at least 3 epic fails in the past few weeks when it came to booking our family flights for our Easter holiday. I am absolutely useless and I have my stomach in my mouth still, after discovering the third one. So I thought I would write about my mammoth fails so that others can look out for them.
