🥂 We kicked off my favourite season at a lovely wedding for one my favourite people on Saturday. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻 weddings are just beautiful. It’s so nice to get dressed up and make an effort.⁣
⁣
I love this photo (taken by another of my favourite people haha), it’s nice to get little 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 on special days. ⁣
⁣
It’s such a 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 to be invited to a friend’s wedding. ⁣
⁣
Having a break away from the norm really helped. Being at home all week had been quite painful without Rocky and learning to 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 things again is going to take time.⁣

🌿 Now I wouldn’t be a typical Brit if I didn’t mention the weather… oh yes, today is the last day of 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 (officially) and so in comes the cosy nights & cold sunshiny days.⁣
⁣
We had a very low key Summer this year, largely because I didn’t want to leave Rocky for long periods (as we knew he was very poorly) and the weather was pretty horrible. But we had some amazing 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 and made some incredible memories.⁣
⁣
Looking back through my photos I 𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 and cried a little… this photo is from our rather large adventure in the Peaks. The furthest I think I’ve ever walked and it was brilliant.⁣

🍂 The leaves are starting to scatter… it can only mean one thing: Autumn is on the way!

I handed my assignment in… now the waiting of whether I passed or not. It was my final one and so it’s worth 50% of the year. As you can imagine it’s pretty nerve wracking.

A degree apprenticeship is harder than it looked. Not only do you study the academic aspects of a degree, you also do the apprenticeship side of things. Both have learning and assignments. That’s 8 a year!

On top of working full time and being a parent, oh and a blogger. Yes, it’s been a hard few years. But if we can all just cross fingers that I’ve got more than 40% on this last assignment - I’ll be so happy! 🤣

Now it’s done I can start looking forward to Autumn. It’s my favourite season and makes me so happy. I’ve got lots of exciting things to share with you over the next few weeks… an Autumnal themed competition for one!

What do you love about Autumn? 🍂

✏️ What a week…These 2 threw themselves back into 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 without any issues and completely smashed it! Isla has joined her big brother again as she started secondary school. She is still a bit nervous, it must be daunting having so many people in the year and it’s such a big school. Noah seems to have seamlessly transitioned into year 8.⁣
⁣
They’ve been told they can leave their blazers at home, due to the 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲, but they’ve both worn them all day. 🥵 I don’t know how they’ve done it.⁣
⁣
I thought it would be 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 already, not sweaty weather! Clearly chose the wrong photo prompt for mummyphotoaday! ⁣
⁣
On another note I’ve been head down studying for my very final assignment for 𝘂𝗻𝗶. Deadline is Tuesday, so forgive me if you do not hear from me for a few days. I am so excited to finish, it will be one of my biggest achievements. ⁣

🤸🏻‍♀️ Come and see a 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 of a gymnast by Isla! She wanted to show you the kinds of things they get up to in class and hopefully inspire some new, budding, gymnasts.⁣
⁣
𝗚𝘆𝗺𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 is a brilliant club for children to learn a new skill. Not only has Isla been learning gymnastics but also confidence. She is a different girl to what started a few years ago, she loves going to class and absolutely loves the girls in her group.⁣
⁣
I’m hoping Isla has got her level 6, which she is currently working towards. 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 week are every quarter where we get to see how close Isla is to the next level up. The girls love working towards the star of the week each class too! ⁣

If you’re interested in Gymfinity then please use my code 𝗠𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗬𝟭𝟬𝟬 to get a waiver off the joining fee, which saves you £15.⁣

Let me know if you get 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 from seeing Isla, it would make her day… 🤸🏻‍♀️ ⁣

Thank you @gymfinitykids for helping Isla with her confidence and gymnastics skills.

#prgifted Isla gets her lessons partially funded in exchange for us showing you what she gets up to.
We had a chilled weekend, the last of the Summer Holidays, no plans and just us. The kids still have a few days at home this week but we wanted to start getting in a good 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲: bedtime and waking up!⁣
⁣
Saturday we went for a lovely walk after stuffing our faces at the Pizza Hut all you can eat buffet. The walk around the marina is so lovely, look at that 𝘀𝗸𝘆? ⁣
⁣
Sunday we spent most of the day chilling at the side of another lake, Grafham. It felt very hot with little wind, the sun was 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. We had a mini badminton tournament & the kids bounced on the pillow. They love it there. I finally got to take Isla to see Barbie last night too: I was gutted the Barbie box had been taken down.⁣
⁣
I do love weekends like this when it’s just chilled and there’s no rushing to get places. Now we have a couple of days to get back into a routine and prepare for 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 school. 😱 ⁣
⁣
Are you ready for the early mornings and rushing around again? ⁣

🥾 We spent the day 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 around the Peaks. I just love it up there, the landscape is so beautiful. Hubby had a route on his trail app and we just went for it. ⁣This was one of my favourite photos as we walked out of the woodland, perfect for today’s photo challenge.
⁣
I feel full of smiles this evening for it: not only did we smash over 𝟭𝟰𝗸𝗺 today, we had a lovely day together. It was nice to have chats with my babies, they seemed so grown up. Isla and I had a long conversation about how our bodies change over the years and Noah talked a lot about football with Daddy.⁣
⁣
Isla said when we got to the top of Mam Tor how she loved this walk as we had a nice 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁. It melted my heart. She’s right. It was so nice to just chat. She asked me a million questions, it was nice to know she trusted me with the things on her mind. ⁣
⁣
There was another moment where both Noah and Isla held my 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀. I didn’t want that to end, it’s not very often Noah does this anymore. It was another special moment.⁣
⁣
This walk is full of unstable terrain, steep inclines and absolutely 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 views. You will need the right footwear and a full camera battery! ⁣

We got home at 3am and the soles of my feet have blisters from all the dancing. 💃 I think that says it all! The 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 was just perfect and the playlist was one brilliant sing along track after the other.⁣

Isla’s amazing Gymfinity Kids gymnastics journey

Tips on how to spot dog diabetes

Tips on how to spot dog diabetes

As you may have seen over at @mummyconstant on Insta, we found out our Cockerspaniel, Snoopy, has dog diabetes this year? I have learnt so much about this over the last 6 months that I thought I would share this with my readers, as I really didn't think it was a thing! There's some tips and information on what the signs are and also how we have to deal with it to keep Snoopy happy and healthy. VIEW the POST

How to reduce Christmas guilt this year

Worrying about everyone can be my biggest issue, every Christmas. I always get the Christmas guilt. Have I got the right presents? Do I need to buy more presents? Have I seen people? But you can also feel it when the pressure comes to buy the latest and greatest things for your kids. I also feel guilty about spending time with the family as I work right up to Christmas, usually.

I am now a Cheer Mum!

How to stop dust from collecting on your TV stand

How to stop dust from collecting on your TV stand

Of all the things to clean in your home, TV stands are right up there as one of the worst. They don’t seem like difficult things to clean, but there’s one problem that makes them so annoying: dust.  Yes, you have dust everywhere in your home, but it collects on your TV stand more than anywhere else. Why? Because all the electrical items and static draws the dust down and keeps it there. With that in mind, how do you stop dust from collecting here? Is it possible? VIEW the POST

Here are my tips on how to manage the juggle and some interesting stats from parents who are currently trying to master the juggle!

How we are coping with lockdown 3 and helpful tips

January 2021 and that dreaded news hits our ears: "schools are closing to all students". I can deal with all other restrictions but closing the schools to the children just breaks my heart. I thought I would write down my feelings during lockdown 3 and some helpful tips on what we are doing to overcome some of these feelings. VIEW the POST

Things I need for lockdown with school children

Things I need for lockdown with school children

Lockdown 3 is a lot different to the first lockdown. I know I am not the only one to think that. In the Spring it was bright, sunny, dry and getting out in the garden was easy. We also had lots of space to use for quiet office space, our conservatory for example. This time around we are all trying to use the same spaces and we are not getting out into the garden as much. We also do not have the luxury of being a pretend teacher this time as we have so much work to do! Here's what we need for lockdown with school children: VIEW the POST

A few little things I enjoyed about our quiet Christmas

I know it was horrible not being able to spend the holidays with our loved ones, well, loved ones outside of our households. However, there were some elements of the Christmas break that I really enjoyed. It was a lot more quiet than normal, which felt very odd. Isn’t it funny how you get into traditions and habits, then when they are broken it can feel quite daunting? Here are some things that I did take away from our quiet Christmas…

Getting back into our new school routine post lockdown

Noah’s overnight stop in hospital

Noah’s overnight stop in hospital

It struck me yesterday that Isla, Daddy and Noah have all visited A&E since lockdown started. Isla as she had a concussion. Daddy, as he has been getting chest pains, which turned out to be torn cartilage by his ribs and at the weekend, Noah. Noah presented with abdominal pains, to the right of his belly button and he was in a lot of pain. I wanted to document what happened at the stop in hospital, in case it helps with someone else in the future. VIEW the POST

What we will continue as a family after lockdown

I have been reflecting on life, during lockdown, over the past few months. It has been over 100 days since lockdown started and all of our lives changed from what we knew. Lockdown has taken away our busyness, our routine and our general pattern throughout the week. It was scary at the beginning but now I am glad. There is quite a lot to take away from this as a family after lockdown.

A quick guide to Minecraft for parents

A quick guide to Minecraft for parents

Well, I've certainly learnt a lot about Minecraft since lockdown began. I haven't played it, but the kiddies love playing it and talking about it too. Last week Minecraft updated and they were both so so excited about it that they almost exploded. I had lots of animated sentences such as "Look Mummy, it's got new Crying Obsideon". I had to respond with excitement, but had no idea what it meant. So this is a little Minecraft for parents guide, which will help you to understand what they are talking about. Obviously we are encouraging both offline play to balance out their fun too! VIEW the POST
