🧙‍♀️ Yay we finally made time to watch the new Hocus Pocus 2 movie and we absolutely loved it! It was a great way to kick off the countdown to Halloween.

It was also the perfect opportunity to road test my new mug… which I absolutely adore.

I’ve started to get the Autumn and Halloween decor out of the attic. The living room always feels full and homely at this time of year.

Two questions:

👀 Have you noticed my little visitor to the living room?

🎥 Have you watched the new movie, what did you think? 🍿

May your autumn be full of blue skies and cool walks… bobble hats and family talks.
Fresh air in your lungs and a crunch at your feet… where the working week ends and the weekends meet!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and got out in the fresh air. I needed a chilled weekend and I feel refreshed for the week ahead. I need to get a good fitness routine going which I’m hoping to start tomorrow 🍂

🍂 So it might just be time for the bobble hats to come out of hiding… anyone else live in hats during the colder months?

It’s been so nice to wrap up in layers of cosy jumpers, boots and jackets this week. I love “sweater weather” so much! If that made you laugh, then you’re my kinda people.

What is your go to Autumnal outfit? I’m in the need for inspiration 🍂

If I was a….

This took me forever to make but I loved doing it. I love being creative and I learnt to use CapCut which Isla absolutely loves. She squealed when I showed her this.

I have the template (which I might blog about as the one I followed wasn’t quite accurate) and I have a few sneaky ways of doing things!

I’ve loved seeing everyone else’s version of this and so I had to do my own! And I wouldn’t change a thing…

What would you be? 🥰

Is there anything more relaxing and calming than this view? The sun setting over the sea and the calmness in the sea too.

Made me smile looking back at my Summer photos today. I’ve had a day of “cosy” as I drank far too much last night at my friends 40th party… I danced all night and walked home with bare feet. The signs of a good night!

I’ve not been out and danced in years. I literally can’t remember the last time I did that! It was a nice break from being Mum & Dad. Letting your hair down is sometimes the best medicine from a stressful few weeks.

What do you do to unwind?

I think it’s really important to love the space where you work, for you spend a long time working in it! When designing my home office area I kept thinking about what makes me happy…

I wanted a space dedicated to my desk. After working on makeshift spaces for 2 years it felt so nice to have a dedicated work space.

I wanted to be by the garden window so I can see the flowers and watch nature about it’s business. I have seen lots of birds and a few squirrels this Spring and Summer.

I wanted the right storage too. Working from home, studying and the blog all result in lots of things I need to put away. I wanted them to have a home. I’ve got the Kallax unit from IKEA with cupboards, drawers and box storage. It’s perfect!

I’ve been doing a bit of a Autumn clean in preparation for the impending season. I love Autumn, it’s my favourite and I want to start it with a clutter free office area (and mind too).

Anyone else feel more productive if their environment is less cluttered?

Day 1 of homeschooling complete

Day 1 of homeschooling complete

It might sound crazy to celebrate Day 1 of homeschooling, it is important to me to give ourselves a pat on the back though. Yesterday was the first day I had to do the combined homeschooling and working from home thing. It was lots of fun and stressful, all in one. But I think the stress was only due to the pressure I put upon myself. VIEW the POST

Useful online resources for children whilst homeschooling

Useful online resources for children whilst homeschooling

UPDATED 31 March 2020: I have found some incredible online resources from various sources and a lot of Googling last night. Perfect to keep your little ones entertained whilst homeschooling and working from home. We are going to try and keep the kiddies in their school routine as much as possible, just with different activities. We also have to juggle working from home, so some of these resources may mean that whilst they are concentrating on something for an hour, I get an extra hour of work done. Anything is going to help over the foreseeable. I am still in shock I think, I haven't cried yet, although I have felt it a few times. VIEW the POST

Top reasons to make learning a lifelong habit

For most people, education stops at school, but to continue improving your skills in later life, lifelong habits are key to being successful and more productivity in both work and play. Continuing to learn in later life can have huge benefits on both your body and mind, as keeping an active mind helps to keep an active body. Getting into good habits with continuous learning can also boost your abilities in a working environment and opens you up to new experiences and opportunities. Taking courses and workshops at any time in life is also a great way to meet new people and interact with others with similar interests to broaden your horizons.

Yes, it’s happened. Little Isla, who is full of sass at the best of times, is becoming a little madam. Noah has developed an attitude too over the past few weeks. The videos they watch on YouTube are full of children who are rude and do naughty things around the house (acting of course), but I believe it's teaching the kiddies that they can behave like that. Isla – 5 years

Isla – 5 years

My little lady is 5. I no longer have babies in my household. I have small children. Small children that are going on tiny grown ups. Isla is not only looking older and just beautiful (biased I know) but she is acting older too. She has lots of emotions at the moment, but on the whole she is polite, kind and very cuddly.  VIEW the POST

Doing something for yourself with home learning

Finding the time to do something for yourself, selfishly, when you are a parent can be a struggle or sometimes feel impossible. It really doesn’t have to be and it’s taken me a good few months of deliberating to work this out. I have been offered the chance to complete a home learning course with NCC, to do something for myself and who knows where it might lead. I am hoping a better knowledge of the world around me in terms of blog and day time job will make me do better!
