Not only have we been making the most out of Disney+ with the Marvel collection. We have been enjoying the Pixar collection too. Did you know it is Toy Story’s 25th anniversary? I cannot believe it has been 25 years since that movie came out. I remember watching it for the first time and being absolutely blown away. I think every household has a Woody or a Buzz toy somewhere. To celebrate I thought I would write a little about the Pixar movies available on Disney+.

So, my understanding is that Pixar and Disney created their movies using computer animation. This means they are drawn and animated on the computer. Where as the Disney Classics are actual drawings that have been brought to life. The first movie Pixar created was Toy Story back in 1995. I remember it coming and my mind was blown. The crisp image, the smooth animation and the details that made it look almost real. To top it off Toy Story is just one of the best storylines, it is so cleverly written and the adventure of it all – it really is one of the best movies.

Pixar Disney+

Pixar have created 22 feature films which have all been released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and each one has been absolutely fantastic. Here is a list of the 22 feature films (in order of release) by Pixar and you can find them all in Disney+:

  • Toy Story
  • A Bug’s Life
  • Toy Story 2
  • Monsters, Inc
  • Finding Nemo
  • The Incredibles
  • Cars
  • Ratatouille
  • WALL-E
  • Up
  • Toy Story 3
  • Cars 2
  • Brave
  • Monsters University
  • Inside Out
  • The Good Dinosaur
  • Finding Dory
  • Cars 3
  • Coco
  • Incredibles 2
  • Toy Story 4
  • Onward

They are releasing Soul this year and Luca next year too, how exciting. I love all of these movies but my favourites are definitely Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Coco, Inside Out and Up. They are fantastic stories and look incredible to watch too.

Pixar Shorts

Did you know that Pixar create shorts too? It is basically 10 minute or less movies that are based on one of their feature films, or a character they are working on for an upcoming movie. Or a completely new story altogether. The kids love watching them. We love Lava, you have to watch it. Here’s a snippet from Lava as we just love the song, I bet you have this song stuck in your head all day!

Wow! 25 years! A lovely story so no surprise that it is enduringly popular. I was very taken with Buzz Lightyear: I think it was his generous jaw and knowing smile!
