No matter how good or bad life is, there are always times where we feel a little more self-conscious and less confident than others. Whether we’ve started following a new person on social media that seems to have their life completely together, or we’ve noticed the numbers on the scales are creeping upwards, there are a huge number of triggers that can make us feel far from fabulous. But thankfully, there are also plenty of ways to boost your mood and regain your confidence. Mental health is really important to me and so I wanted to share these great tips.

And that’s what we’re going to discuss today.

Here are just a few small ways to get back to feeling as great and beautiful as you deserve to!

Sort out that posture!

Standing or sitting with the proper posture is an instant mood lift when you’re feeling a little sluggish. It’s also a great way to look a little more confident. Fake it till you make it, as they say.

As a starting point, make sure to look forward, not down, while walking and keep those shoulders back. When at work, try to sit up straight rather than slouching, or ask HR for a workstation assessment to see the correct way to be sitting at your desk.

You could even take it a step further by trying out these exercises for better posture.

Find clothing that suits your body type

Finding clothing that actually suits your body type will help you feel much better about yourself every day. Take a day to try on all your clothes, and if they don’t make you feel like the total queen you are, it’s time to get rid.

When was the last time you actually splashed some cash on yourself? And for a treat, rather than for necessity? Well, when you’re feeling self-conscious, it’s the perfect time. Take a friend with you to be your very own cheerleader and get shopping.

If you’re not feeling confident enough to head to the high street, why not shop online? You can find stunning boutiques and plus size womens clothing stores online and grab yourself a few sweet deals. Order a variety of pieces, grab the girls, and have your own at-home fashion show. Take a few risks – you can always return the items you’re not really feeling.

Work out

While we’re still not convinced that anyone feels super energized and good after a sweaty workout, the science does suggest you’ll feel much better. Pushing yourself to do even just one workout a week will give you a little boost. If you’re not comfortable with your body, at least you’re working to feel better! Plus, even if the exercising isn’t enjoyable, the cool shower after definitely will be.

Do something that scares you

Facing your fears is another good way to get a new lease of life. It might be skydiving or something as simple as asking your boss for that well-deserved raise. Doing something that scares you will help you release a few endorphins and feel more confident in your everyday life

 – which is exactly how you should feel!
