The troubles we’ve been having over the past month or so are now being out-done by the 5 minutes or so Noah should be cleaning his teeth! I hope we are not the only ones with a fussy teeth cleaning toddler.

I can only assume its the flavour of the mint toothpaste that Noah doesn’t like, as his face is a picture when he puts the toothbrush in his mouth. He spits it back out straight away and throws his toothbrush. We didn’t have any problems when we used Brush Baby’s Mint/Apple flavoured toothpaste, but he really needs to get used to using a minty toothpaste. I just don’t know how we can coax him into cleaning his teeth.

I have tried squishing the toothpaste into the bristles so that he doesn’t have a big clump of toothpaste in his mouth, but it still doesn’t work. I think he has built up a barrier now that he doesn’t like the toothpaste so he doesn’t even attempt to clean his peggies.

We usually get him to clean his teeth in the bath, so that he can do it as part of his bathtime routine, going to bed routine. I suggested that we get him to stand on a stool and use the big boy sink, like mummy & daddy but that still didn’t work. He really dislikes toothpaste!

Without purchasing the apple/mint flavoured toothpaste, I really don’t know what to do to get him to clean his teeth. Has anyone else had issues with teeth cleaning?
