As you know we joined the Asmodee Board Game Club, we love it. We are huge fans of Asmodee games, we especially love Just One and Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. Board Game Club means we get to review different board games each month and share our thoughts and tips with you. Picture Show is absolutely amazing fun and creative too. We had lots of fun learning about each other as we played this game.

Setting up the game

It took a good 15 minutes to set this game up, namely because you have to pop all of the props out of the plastic templates before you can start playing. You have to set up the stage too, this is something that is set up before and after every game (so you can pack it away properly). It is very easy to put together, it clicks into place so you can tell when it is set up correctly. The kids actually enjoyed putting this together.

Playing the game

The concept of the game is really simple, once you have set up the stage and set up the shapes, you have to use the props to help your opponent guess what is on the card. So you might have to get the other team to guess “cycling” or “cooking”. You can play this in teams, so kids against parents or mix it up a bit. We really loved it. It is so simple. If you do not guess the card in the time, then you do not get the point.

Our thoughts

It’s such a fun game, it’s interactive and it’s creative. Depending on how you want to use the shapes, determines how easy it is to guess what is on the card. We all discussed how we would choose very different shapes, which made us all realise – we are different. Some we found easy to guess and some we didn’t. I won’t ruin it for you. I did have to help the kiddies on some of the harder words, as in indicate what shapes they might want to use or example the card word in more detail for them. Otherwise, they took to it quickly and they loved it.
