I love painting my nails. When I was younger I used to do it all the time and I have had some strange patterns on my nails. Everything from spots to bright colours with a different colour on each finger. Sometimes it looks effective, sometimes it just looked awful. In my adult years, I hardly find thetime to colour my nails yet alone get creative. So i jumped at the chance to get involved with winterizing my nails.
My guide to winterizing your nails
- Use a rich colour for the base coat
- Do two coats for the base coat
- Choose a sparkly top coat
- Make sure the top coat is even, but no need to be perfect
- Have fun with your winter nails!
Choosing the perfect colours
I really liked the colour swatch from Julep, showing off the winter nail polish colours. I love the Kiki colour (that is on my wish list now) and I really love burgundy colours at the moment so the Joanne colour was my main inspiration for my video. I thought it would look good with a silver sparkle on the top and I can style this with my burgundy cardigan and dark skinny jeans.
If your nails are in need of a little TLC, it has been awfully cold recently, they are bound to need a little attention, the guide on how to look after your nails in the winter is a great place to start whilst you are considering what colours to paint your nails with! The Julep Oxygen nail treatment sounds great, another thing to add to the wish list.
I had lots of fun painting my nails, and making the video, I would love to see your nail creations too. What colours do you use together? How would you winterize your nails? What other nail tips do you have?
I watched this on You Tube the other day and thought it was a fab video- I love watching your You Tube channel! x
Thank you Katie you made me blush! 🙂 Your YouTube channel is by far superior! You have a beautiful little family 🙂 xx
