We had such a fun bike ride following the Poacher trail  at High Lodge, Thetford Forest at the weekend. Daddy had got us fantastic new his and hers bikes from Halfords and child bike seats for the little ones and off we went. The trail is 10 miles and was really lovely, Isla really enjoyed zooming down the hills and going over the bumps.

Daddy was biking at my pace most of the way around and I felt terrible as I couldn’t bike half as fast as him, so the last couple of miles I told him I would meet him back at the car. I wasn’t too far behind – just 15 minutes or so. My legs burnt, my body ached and especially my bottom but I felt really good. I love getting out on the bike. I just cant seem to bike too quickly, I did have an extra 2 stone attached to my bike too – I had never done that before.

After our bike ride we took a little stroll around the forest again, finding places we didn’t see last week. The musical instruments hidden in the woods are great fun and I love all the logs that were scattered around – we built a fabulous den. I was really chuffed with that. The kids were too and they sat playing in it for ages. Its amazing how 30 minutes can whizz past.

It was a great way to spend our afternoon and the children really enjoyed it too. We will definitely be making the most of our Discovery Pass with High Lodge over the autumn with lots more Country Kids adventures. IMG_0785

What a great day out for you all, it’s great that you all had a fab time. How thoughtful of Daddy to buy you new matching bikes that you can take the kids out on for a great family day out. Those musical instruments look like a really fab place to play, there’s nothing better than a sensory playground. The den you built looks like a build, I’m not surprised you’re all impressed by it. Thanks for linking up with me on Country Kids.
