Today we decided, because it wasn’t raining, we would take a trip back down memory lane and we took the kiddies to Knebworth Park – Dean & I used to go there with our families when we were younger. It brought back lots of great memories and we spent a while reminiscing whilst running around having lots of fun with the kids.
We spent the first part of our time at Knebworth in the fort, running around the edges and down the slides, climbing the ladders and crawling around the fortress edges. It hasn’t changed a bit since I was little, it’s got to be 30 years old and still just as fun! The kids thoroughly loved it, their faces were so happy and the sense of freedom for them both was obvious.
After we had scoped out the fortress we went to the hill where the slides are, the wavy slide is still the same and just as fun as it was 20 years ago, Noah & Isla really enjoyed it. We had a little teaser go just to show the kids how much fun it was before lunch, we then went for a good bounce on the castle and had our lunch in the special picnic area.
After lunch we had a nice chilled out swing swing, Daddy got involved too and it was nice to see them all happy together. We had a run around the park: we found mushroom houses, wooden trains, assault courses, gorilla swings and a really clever water feature see-saw. It was brilliant fun, I think the photos say it all. The water feature see-saw is so clever, when you are on the see-saw it pumps water out of the wooden towers, I can imagine this is a great hit for the little ones in the heat of summer.
After all of the fun of the park with all its activities on offer we went back to the fortress and of course, the slides and we had some great family moments together – which is what it’s all about really! I loved seeing the happiness on their faces and the fact we just had a good time together. I now have some great motherhood memories to add to my childhood ones.
What lovely happy photos of all the family having such a great time together! How great to be able to visit places from your childhood and look back on happy childhood memories and make new ones for your children. It looks like Mum and Dad enjoyed playing just as much as the children did! Thanks for linking up your outdoor family fun with Country Kids.
Ace pictures, really captured the fun so well. What a great park with well planned equipment – I need to tell our council about those see-saws! The slide too looks fantastic and the mushroom houses!!!!
