This is a funny poo story and oh yes it really happened! You will be pleased to know that I do not have photos of the event but it was a very funny poo story. It just highlighted to me the effects of teaching your children to do things, does have consequences – especially in the popping off department.
Isla has always copied Daddy, helping him with things, his silly faces and silly things he says and also his popping off methods. Daddy quite often does it in a funny way – he will creep up to one of the kids and pop off or something silly like that. Who doesn’t have this from the Daddy in their house? Isla is quite clever, in that she has learnt to make herself pop off. So she can almost do it on demand and she is very proud of it when she does. I cannot count how many times a day she says “Mummy I have just done a pop off”. Not the most lady like.
The “poo story”
Sometimes, these fun and games can backfire. When Daddy took Isla swimming a couple of weeks ago, in the changing cubicle (after their swim may I add), Daddy decided to do a pop off. He described it as the best time to do one as it has a wet sound. I must admit I have never analysed pop offs as much as that. Anyway, Isla copied him. Which is usual. But on this occasion bless her, she obviously tried a little too hard… she followed through onto his leg.
I wish I was there to see Daddy’s face, I bet it was a picture. He said that Isla looked really shocked and I am not surprised. I think it’s taught us a valuable lesson in doing things like that, sometimes it is not appropriate and sometimes, just sometimes, you have to be careful with what you teach the little ones.
The stories you collect when you have children, and why is it always a poo story. I can’t wait for that to come up on her wedding day speech…
This is fun! Feel like his joke backfired a bit there 😉
Hehe, it did indeed. Bless her. She was so shocked.
