When I was pregnant, I remember the nights the most when you just couldn’t get comfortable. Not being able to sleep is one of the things that bothers me the most. When your body is going through such dramatic changes, you need a good night’s sleep. These are a few sleeping tips that will help any expectant mothers who are struggling to sleep. If you want to read more sleeping tips, check out Sleep Moment who have more ideas and reasons why you don’t sleep during pregnancy.

V Cushion

You can get pregnancy cushions and other special cushions, but I had a simple V Cushion as it did the trick for me. As I got bigger through the pregnancy it became more uncomfortable when lying down and so I would place the V pillow in-between my legs. This meant that my legs didn’t put pressure on my tummy when I was asleep. It also stopped my back from twisting, and I felt a lot more comfortable.

Warm bath

I have always loved a hot bath, and this was no exception when I was pregnant. I would sit in a hot bath for a long period in the evenings, reading a book. This gave my body a little time to relax in the water and the warmth kept me comfortable too. I did try not to have them too hot, but hot enough. This would really help my whole body to relax and prepared me for bedtime.

Go for a walk

Getting some fresh air during the day can really help to get a good night’s sleep. A moderate walk, outside, can really help to get a better sleep. It is healthy to walk when pregnant too. I would go for a walk in the early evenings, usually a nice calm dog walk, which would prepare me for the rest of the evening. It was funny as I got into the third trimester though as my bump was so large, compared to the rest of my body, I did waddle quite a lot towards to the end!
