With 𝟮𝟱 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗽𝗮 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, that are all nature inspired, you cannot help but immerse yourself in the magic of the place. From the Japanese onsen-inspired footbaths, to the immersive forest view (where you can watch the seasons change). ⁣

You must check out 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘀𝘁 too, this sauna is unique to Elvedon Forest. It’s lovely and hot, and you can lie back and watch the nature in the woodland surrounding the spa. ⁣

Another exclusive to Elvedon Forest is the amazing treatment: 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹. It is an energising body massage with grounding techniques to release any negative energy. You also get a wonderful facial using some of the amazing products. They smell so good. This ritual is a 55 minute experience and I would highly recommend it… there’s also a lovely surprise too. ⁣

🥂 We kicked off my favourite season at a lovely wedding for one my favourite people on Saturday. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻 weddings are just beautiful. It’s so nice to get dressed up and make an effort.⁣

Having a break away from the norm really helped. Being at home all week had been quite painful without Rocky and learning to 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 things again is going to take time.⁣

🌿 Now I wouldn’t be a typical Brit if I didn’t mention the weather… oh yes, today is the last day of 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 (officially) and so in comes the cosy nights & cold sunshiny days.⁣

We had a very low key Summer this year, largely because I didn’t want to leave Rocky for long periods (as we knew he was very poorly) and the weather was pretty horrible. But we had some amazing 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 and made some incredible memories.⁣

Looking back through my photos I 𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 and cried a little… this photo is from our rather large adventure in the Peaks. The furthest I think I’ve ever walked and it was brilliant.⁣

🐯 Wow! 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗶 is the most amazing theatre production I’ve seen. It captivated me right from the start. The way they changed scenes, the music and of course the acting, was perfect.⁣
⁣
🚤 The set is incredible. How it stays the same but changes throughout the show… one minute I felt like I was in a back street in 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 and the next on the ocean. The seamless transitions to different scenes made it all the more special.⁣
⁣
🐢 It is a very funny show, we laughed a lot. However, there were some bits that made us sad and one part Isla couldn’t watch, as they ate the 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗲. But I think that just proves how realistic the show is and how captivated we were. ⁣
⁣
🎭 You can see Life of Pi at 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 up until Sunday 23 September 2023, so get your tickets booked now. There are some matinee performances too. ⁣

ᵃᵈ The other week we went to 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 for a yummy family meal. We love it here as it’s by the marina, so we can enjoy a walk and play in the park before dinner. They have a fab garden space too, it’s perfect for the Summer evenings and for the upcoming Autumn weekends.⁣

The new ‘𝟳𝟰 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 is absolutely awesome for families, there is so much choice and plenty of vegetarian options. We all got to choose something that we loved, so everyone was happy.⁣

Isla loved the new 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 mocktail. It came with a frozen watermelon in the drink, she said it was absolutely delicious. We’re going to try and make that at home!⁣

🐾💔 My beautiful fluffbag, 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘆. You were the best cat and we are going to miss you so very much.⁣

Rocky was a surprise, Hubby came home from work one day (about 15 and a half years ago) with his hands behind his back & I heard a little 𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗮𝗸. He became Rambo’s best friend & watching them grow up together was magic!⁣
⁣
I’m sure he was part dog, as he had very dog like traits: He would go out with the dogs and come back in after he’d had a wee. He would sit when I gave him a treat. You would always find him 𝘀𝗻𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗱 up with his furbrothers.⁣
⁣
I’m going to miss our 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 moments like when he would snuggle under the duvet & tuck himself in by my tummy, with his head resting on my arm. Or when he’d dribble all over my notepad whilst I’m on a teams call. He was a very chatty cat, always talking to me… if I told him he was a good boy he would squint his eyes at me with content.⁣
⁣
Our house will never be the same. We are all 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻 & I’m really struggling with the notion I haven’t got my work buddy tomorrow. But what’s making it bearable is imagining Rocky is up there with his furbrothers. Together again.⁣

I can’t believe we’ve lost all of our pets within the last 𝟵 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀. My heart is broken into 3… I will miss him so much. 😣

🍂 The leaves are starting to scatter… it can only mean one thing: Autumn is on the way!

I handed my assignment in… now the waiting of whether I passed or not. It was my final one and so it’s worth 50% of the year. As you can imagine it’s pretty nerve wracking.

A degree apprenticeship is harder than it looked. Not only do you study the academic aspects of a degree, you also do the apprenticeship side of things. Both have learning and assignments. That’s 8 a year!

On top of working full time and being a parent, oh and a blogger. Yes, it’s been a hard few years. But if we can all just cross fingers that I’ve got more than 40% on this last assignment - I’ll be so happy! 🤣

Now it’s done I can start looking forward to Autumn. It’s my favourite season and makes me so happy. I’ve got lots of exciting things to share with you over the next few weeks… an Autumnal themed competition for one!

✏️ What a week…These 2 threw themselves back into 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 without any issues and completely smashed it! Isla has joined her big brother again as she started secondary school. She is still a bit nervous, it must be daunting having so many people in the year and it’s such a big school. Noah seems to have seamlessly transitioned into year 8.⁣

They’ve been told they can leave their blazers at home, due to the 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲, but they’ve both worn them all day. 🥵 I don’t know how they’ve done it.⁣

I thought it would be 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 already, not sweaty weather! Clearly chose the wrong photo prompt for mummyphotoaday! ⁣

On another note I’ve been head down studying for my very final assignment for 𝘂𝗻𝗶. Deadline is Tuesday, so forgive me if you do not hear from me for a few days. I am so excited to finish, it will be one of my biggest achievements. ⁣

🤸🏻‍♀️ Come and see a 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 of a gymnast by Isla! She wanted to show you the kinds of things they get up to in class and hopefully inspire some new, budding, gymnasts.⁣

𝗚𝘆𝗺𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 is a brilliant club for children to learn a new skill. Not only has Isla been learning gymnastics but also confidence. She is a different girl to what started a few years ago, she loves going to class and absolutely loves the girls in her group.⁣
⁣
I’m hoping Isla has got her level 6, which she is currently working towards. 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 week are every quarter where we get to see how close Isla is to the next level up. The girls love working towards the star of the week each class too! ⁣

We had a chilled weekend, the last of the Summer Holidays, no plans and just us. The kids still have a few days at home this week but we wanted to start getting in a good 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲: bedtime and waking up!⁣

Saturday we went for a lovely walk after stuffing our faces at the Pizza Hut all you can eat buffet. The walk around the marina is so lovely, look at that 𝘀𝗸𝘆? ⁣
⁣
Sunday we spent most of the day chilling at the side of another lake, Grafham. It felt very hot with little wind, the sun was 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. We had a mini badminton tournament & the kids bounced on the pillow. They love it there. I finally got to take Isla to see Barbie last night too: I was gutted the Barbie box had been taken down.⁣

I do love weekends like this when it’s just chilled and there’s no rushing to get places. Now we have a couple of days to get back into a routine and prepare for 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 school. 😱 ⁣

It’s not everyday you get to explore such beautiful scenery. So we made the most out of our trip to the 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁. ⁣

This was our second walk. We parked up in 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 and did a loop out to the Stepping Stones, along the river and up the hill on the other side of the village. ⁣
⁣
These 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 were huge and the gaps between them were equally ginormous. Some of them I had to leap over and I had to help the kiddies do the same. But, because it wasn’t an easy crossing it made it much more fun. ⁣

The river is 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 because it has a lot of peat in it… fun fact from my husband! ⁣

🥿 How are you getting on with your Back to School to do list? We ticked one job of our list today, the children’s school shoes. They look so smart and ready for secondary school, thanks to Start-Rite. ⁣

Noah is going into year 8, he is very excited about going back to school. He is very studious and sporty, he wanted some smart shoes that he could get off quickly to play football at lunch. He chose the 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗿 shoe, it’s a smart lace up design and with breathability. ⁣
⁣
Isla is starting secondary school and is feeling quite nervous. She’s spent the last 6 months bending the rules with her uniform and so wanted something that is comfortable, looked cool and was still within the new schools uniform rules. She chose the 𝗦𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵 shoe, it’s a patent slip on loafer. They look so lovely and are made with Air-Rite technology that allows air to flow around the shoe. ⁣

We love the measuring tools Start-Rite have on their website, you can buy a plastic gauge or download and print a paper gauge. It helps you to measure the children’s feet, as if you were in a store.⁣

🥾 We spent the day 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 around the Peaks. I just love it up there, the landscape is so beautiful. Hubby had a route on his trail app and we just went for it. ⁣This was one of my favourite photos as we walked out of the woodland, perfect for today’s photo challenge.
⁣
I feel full of smiles this evening for it: not only did we smash over 𝟭𝟰𝗸𝗺 today, we had a lovely day together. It was nice to have chats with my babies, they seemed so grown up. Isla and I had a long conversation about how our bodies change over the years and Noah talked a lot about football with Daddy.⁣
⁣
Isla said when we got to the top of Mam Tor how she loved this walk as we had a nice 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁. It melted my heart. She’s right. It was so nice to just chat. She asked me a million questions, it was nice to know she trusted me with the things on her mind. ⁣
⁣
There was another moment where both Noah and Isla held my 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀. I didn’t want that to end, it’s not very often Noah does this anymore. It was another special moment.⁣

This walk is full of unstable terrain, steep inclines and absolutely 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 views. You will need the right footwear and a full camera battery! ⁣

💦 The kids made a big 𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 this evening, it was a fun way to cool down. I felt bad as ignored them all day whilst working and at 5pm they requested a swim. By that time the pools were closing so I zoomed us to the nearest splash park I knew.⁣
⁣
We spent a few hours seeing the sun setting by the pool and the kiddies played in the park afterwards. It was nice to spend some time with them, after a stressful day, we 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗱 and had a silly hour. ⁣

🥂 Last night Hubby and I had a 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 off being Mummy & Daddy. We celebrated our friend’s 50th and had a blast. It was so nice to unwind with so many good friends.⁣

We got home at 3am and the soles of my feet have blisters from all the dancing. 💃 I think that says it all! The 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 was just perfect and the playlist was one brilliant sing along track after the other.⁣
⁣
I didn’t wake up until 10:45am (which is unheard of) just in time to watch the 𝗟𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀. What a cracking game. Now it’s a slow afternoon before the kids come home.⁣

🤸 Isla has now officially completed a whole year of gymnastics and she’s absolutely loving it. We’ve been coming to Gymfinity since late 2019, but due to the pandemic she missed huge blocks of classes. I have seen the difference in her 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 and 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 over this last year.⁣
⁣
The classes are designed to warm up, stretch and practice using equipment and gain 𝗴𝘆𝗺𝗻𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 skills. Isla is currently in an intermediate class working towards her level 6 certificate.⁣
⁣
It’s brilliant because I can log into the website and see exactly what Isla needs to conquer before she signs off level 6. Bridge kick over, handstand on high beam and forward roll on any beam to name a few. These are things we can 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 at time. ⁣

She is always doing practice; in the garden or in her bedroom. She incorporates moves into dances too. She loves it. ⁣

🏖️ Yesterday we had a jam packed day at the beach for Hubby’s birthday. We got up early and drove over to one of our long term Norfolk hotspots, 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴.⁣
⁣
We took games, swimming costumes and a lovely 𝗯𝗯𝗾. Never had vege sausages and burgers on the beach before, or corn on the cob, it was great fun! ⁣
⁣
Hubby went in the sea on his 𝗽𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱, which is braver than me, it looked really hard paddling against the wind. But he makes it look easy! ⁣
⁣
Despite the sea being exceptionally freezing both kids went swimming and even I got in up to my waist, it was really hot yesterday. We had a wonderful day. ⁣
⁣
I took the opportunity to jump on this 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱 bandwagon, I love the photos when I see them and I love this one. It took me a while to get the shape and angle right but I am happy with the outcome. ⁣

Today we had a lovely day, in the morning Isla was at her sleep over still and so Noah played with all of his toys. Then I made 2 rather delicious vegetable lasagnes (see below). Then we went over to my Grandmas and had a lovely family day to celebrate seeing our New Zealand family members. I have to say I cried all the way home as I will miss them so much and it was so nice to all be together.
