Hallmark were proud to announce a brand new arrival in their family of Interactive “Story Buddy” soft toys and Noah was lucky enough to get a hold of one to review: Abigail the bunny.

Abigail’s story is called “Abigail and the Balance Beams” and is about little Abigail who just can’t wait to grow up. We follow her adventure to a very important gymnastics tournament, where she wants to make her mummy extra proud but she soon learns its best to be herself as that is the best that she can be!

To use the interactive cuddly toy all you need to do is press her ear to begin, soon enough Abigail comes to life and as you read the story together with your little one, listen out as Abigail chimes in with several different sounds throughout the book. You have to make sure that you read the book with clarity and not to fast otherwise your story buddy might not keep up with you and this will effect their response, but we never had any problems. Noah cannot speak very much at the moment, and is not in the position to be reading books to mummy just yet but he enjoyed listening and was amazed the first time he heard her speak – his eyes just beamed with happiness and astonishment when we first used her.

Additional books featuring the exciting adventures of Abigail are also available including, ‘Abigail and the Tea Party’; a tale of a special tea party hosted by Abigail’s mummy and ‘Abigail and the Lost Purse’ which follows the discovery of some dress up clothes that later turns into a fun girlie game, both retailing at £5.99.

iPhone/iPad app
For even more story time fun with Abigail, there is also a downloadable app suitable for use on iPhones and iPads, to accompany the playful bunny. The free app includes a short animated story that can be played aloud through the app’s internal narrator or recorded by a loved one to add a personal touch to the tale… Now I have my iPad I find these kinds of apps brilliant and I have recorded my story for Noah and we listen to it when we have “calm down” time in the afternoons, its fascinating watching him look at me as if to say “But mummy you didn’t move your mouth to talk!”.

Priced at £19.99 Abigail was available from April 2012 in Hallmark stores and at www.Hallmark.co.uk. Look out for the other fun characters too: Nugget, Christopher, Bigsby, Watson and Cooper.
