Domu, VonHaus, have challenged me to a 14 day cleaning challenge covering a wide range of activities across the home. Resulting in a nice tidy house at the end of it. I love a challenge and this one is perfect for right now as our house is all upside down and needs a good clean. Here is day 9…

Day 9

Get your bedding, blankets and cushions washed – after all everyone loves fresh bedding!

I absolutely adore a fresh clean bed. There is nothing that can beat it. I quite often change the bed around just so I can smell that washing powder smell and feel the fluffy towels, when I hit the pillow. It’s my favourite thing to do when I stay at hotels too – flop on the bed, right in the middle. I think the average cleaning tip is to wash your bedding once a fortnight. But once a week is probably much better. I tend to wash the bedding more in the Summer as the children are quite sweaty in the night. Or when they have been poorly.

It’s funny as I do not think about cushions as much, but these are what cause my spots. I have finally worked it out. My face is very prone to oils and when I do not wash cushion covers it makes me break out in spots. So I have to make sure I keep these washed. Hubby’s hair oils and waxes all sit on the cushions and then it wipes all over my face – not good.

How often do you wash your bedding? I would love to know in the comments below or on social media: @mummyconstant.
