We were recently sent a lovely little craft box called Oglee Poglee, it’s full of fun things to craft with the kids including a story book and inspiration of things to craft along the way. Now I say little box, it’s like a magic box as there is so much packed in it kept the children entertained for hours.

As you know Isla just loves crafts – anything messy, what toddler doesn’t? She not only gets messy but does actually craft really well, she makes wonderful creations and it was nice giving her a purpose with the crafting. The story and items in the box gave her everything she needed. She loved the pom poms, all different sizes and colours, it was fabulous watching her face when we opened the box (I wish I had caught it on camera).

Our entire Saturday was rained in, so this was perfect to keep us entertained, even Mummy. There was so much to do in the box that we literally sat there for a couple of hours uninterrupted, crafting. Bliss.

Isla created a space scene with planets (pom poms) and lots of glue, of course. She thought it was fantastic that she had cut out shapes, different colours, shiny paper and stickers to use. She used them all. She tells me the eyes are aliens in space, the round objects are the planets and moons and the star is a star. The green glitter was just an extra touch I think as she didn’t have an answer for me on that.

I love the bit in the booklet for the grown ups, of course us parents enjoy these craft sessions as much as the children. So Mummy had a little fun playing with the goodies too and I even learnt a new trick with some of the craft items:

Making a star without using glue

You will need
Lollipop sticks
Pipe cleaners

Instructions:
Start with the first triangle, wrap a pipe cleaner around one corner so that the lollipop sticks cross over. If you can hold the lollipop sticks in the right position whilst you wrap the pipe cleaners around the sticks otherwise when you come to do the third angle it can be quite tricky. Do the same for the second triangle. Use a final pipe cleaner to attach the two triangles together, I used the silver one to wrap around the triangle sides, entangling them together. I thought it looked quite effective and a good thing craft activity if you don’t have any glue to hand.
