Fancy doing a spot of ice skating over the Christmas holidays? It’s something I see in the films and on the TV but we do not have very many of these days and so when I found out about the temporary ice rink set up at our local Wyevale Garden Centre, I jumped at the chance.

This year’s real ice rink is a very merry must, with thousands of people expected to enjoy skating in an enchanting atmosphere over the next few weeks. So get into the Christmas spirit by taking to the ice to spin, twirl and glide (or hold on tight to the side!) – until January 3rd

The whole family is welcome and it’s the perfect opportunity to buy that little something you have had your eye on, grab some bargains in the sales and escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre with free parking.

The rink is equipped for the little ones too, so Noah and Isla could enjoy the ice just as much as us grown ups. They had special skates that went over their own shoes and they had a skate aid, which came in a penguin and seal version, it kept them safe on the ice. Noah did try to be a little “cocky” and thought he could skate on his own, only to fall flat on his bum. It was a lot of fun and the children really enjoyed it.

After our skating adventures we went to see Father Christmas which was a lovely surprise, they really enjoyed the whole experience.

Friday’s are Disco Nights, which see flashing lights and louder music to really add to the atmosphere.

To enjoy this special Christmas experience, get your skates on and book now at www.wyevalegardencentres.co.uk/ice-rinks or call 0208 1333 143.
