We took a lovely little trip to the Peak District this weekend with our friends, The Effords and we had a fabulous time. We arrived Saturday lunchtime, set up camp and had an amazing adventure. Even in the rain on Sunday night and Monday morning! Here are some of the best bits:
The campsite at Barn Farm was really busy, but brilliant. The facilities were really good and there was a lot to do. It was great to be able to go to the shop on the campsite, have a hot shower and clean toilets with toilet roll (all day and night). We stayed in an overflow carpark which is fine, but we slept on a slope which was a little freaky at 3am in the morning when you are half asleep and needed the toilet.
Saturday afternoon we walked around Birchover village, it was lovely. We walked around the fields, we saw the cows being moved by the farmer, played in the park, grabbed a drink in the local pub and had a yummy meal back at the campsite.
On Sunday, we walked around Birchover and up through the quarry to Stanton Moor. It was amazing. The heather fields were so pretty and we stopped there to eat our lunch. The walk took us through the 9 stone ladies, earl grey tower and past some amazing views. The children really loved it and they walked all of it too.
Hi Sonia. Your images are stunning! We may just have to take a little trip to the Peak District 🙂
Thank you Lisa that’s so kind. I loved my video clips too. Cute memories. It was great. The walk was great for the family x
It looks like you all had a fabulous time exploring Birchover from Barn Farm campsite. The kids all look like they’re enjoying their time exploring together making memories, this is what they’ll remember when they’re older and think back to family holidays. I bet all the kids were interested in watching the farmer move his cattle, my lot don’t see the magic anymore the amount of times it’s made them late for friend’s. Thanks for linking up with me on Country Kids.
Thank you Fiona. It was brilliant. We couldn’t believe there were so many fantastic walks just from the campsite. We didn’t have to drive anywhere. x
Gorgeous photos! Looks like a beautiful place to spend a few days, that last photo in the heather is just fab. Wonderful memories made. (popping over from #countrykids, very late, sorry!!)
