🤸🏼‍♀️ I’m very 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 of this little lady. Not only has she just bagged her level 6 @gymfinitykids certificate. She’s only a couple of skills away from her level 7. ⁣

She started her 𝗴𝘆𝗺𝗻𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 journey, nearly 4 years ago, just before the pandemic hit us. She was level 0 and had no experience of the equipment and techniques. ⁣

She 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 this class and has made some great friends over the years. Whilst Mummy has spent the 2 hour sessions doing her studying, which helped me get through my degree. ⁣

⛸️ We had a fab time on Monday evening at #𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗢𝗻𝗜𝗰𝗲, there was so much to do and we enjoyed the family fun time. The ice skating rink is huge, authentically cold and the lighting is perfect for showing off those skating skills. It was wonderful seeing the kids loosen up on the ice as they got used to it. ⁣
⁣
Outside the rink there are 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 rides, a food area with lots of choice and a festive land train (which we didn’t get time to go on boo). ⁣
⁣
There is so much to do here, an entire evening of fun for the whole 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 and it’s right on our doorstep!⁣

🍔 So much choice of 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱: German Sausage, chips, burgers, festive Yorkshire pudding wraps (they made me a Vege option) and sweet treats like fresh donuts. ⁣

🍷 The 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗸𝗶 𝗯𝗮𝗿 is perfect for a drink after skating, I had a warm mulled wine and it was just perfect. They have a great choice of drinks in the bar and warm seating areas. ⁣

💻 Guess who’s got a 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲? Oh yes, that is me. Over 3 years of hard work has led me to this and I feel so proud of myself. Starting a degree during Covid and homeschooling children and working is just insane when I think back.⁣
⁣
All that study time means I have a BSc Hons in 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲. I love that this is a universal degree, it means I can use it whatever my future holds. ⁣
⁣
As it’s an apprenticeship, through my employer, I still have some work to do to finish off. But my certificate is en route… the hard work is done. I wouldn’t have been able to do this if it wasn’t for my employer giving me time to study and Hubby for giving me the space to work into the evenings and weekends. It’s a lot of time. And I will be forever grateful. ⁣
⁣
I love learning and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, as I left uni at 20 without my 𝗟𝗮𝘄 degree. It was my biggest regret leaving so close to the end. But I’ve done it now and that’s the main thing. ⁣

Rambo was terrified of them, he would shake and not eat for days around this time of year. I often made him a den somewhere, so he could hide. It’s not nice seeing your 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 go through that. So we’ve never really embraced this occasion by going to a firework event. ⁣

Instead we sit and watch them from the glass windows, where we’re warm and safe. I raised a glass of 𝗳𝗶𝘇𝘇 to my furbabies up in heaven tonight. The night sky was deep blue and clear so I could see the beautiful stars inbetween the fireworks. ⁣

So I did a thing this week: I joined the 𝗴𝘆𝗺 again & have a PT! I’ve never done that before and felt like I needed it as I have no idea how to use all the equipment… ⁣

Today was my second induction, I was shown how to use some of the strength training equipment! So now I have cardio & strength 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 as part of my plan and I’m aiming to do it 4 times a week. ⁣
⁣
For the first time, in my life, I’m actually 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 about doing this. I want to get fit and feel better about myself. Not 100% sure what has changed but I’m rolling with it. ⁣
⁣
🥪 After my PT session I came back and made myself this rather delicious sandwich. I had to level it up as a) it’s 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 and b) I was starving! ⁣

This is an air fryer 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗵 using tiger bread, béchamel sauce, cheddar, spring onions and tomatoes. It took 10 mins at 190°c, it was absolutely delicious! ⁣

This is basically why I need to workout; because 𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵. ⁣

We’ve been trick or treating, playing Halloween songs, dressing up and being 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘆 tonight. It’s been fun. We put a speaker on the front door playing Halloween songs. It made it lots of fun for the children who knocked on the door this evening. ⁣

🌿 We explored 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 today. We walked a few miles of the South West Coast Path and the views were amazing. ⁣
⁣
It was very wet, at one point we did have to turn our backs to it and just wait out the harshness of it. Walking up the cliffs soon 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 us up again. ⁣
⁣
The views were absolutely 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲. These photos do not do it justice. ⁣
⁣
We had to 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗲𝘂𝘃𝗿𝗲 around some cows at one point too, the kids totally freaked out, but we got past without a cufuffle. ⁣
⁣
We managed 𝟲𝗸𝗺 of steep cliffs and staircases, which made it feel a lot longer. Kids did a fab job and my burning legs felt better after a 2 hour soak in the hot tub! ⁣

We definitely needed our 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗷𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 today as we didn’t dodge the rain haha. ⁣

🌥️ We managed to dodge the rain today, which was perfect. We explored 𝗧𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 and it surprised us in more ways than one. ⁣
⁣
We loved the red/brown coloured sand. Noah noticed the 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗳𝘀 were red too, so we assumed that’s why the beach was that colour. ⁣
⁣
It was so 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘆 that the waves sprayed us each time they crashed against the wall. But that was all part of the fun: dodging them. ⁣
⁣
We also found the train line that runs alongside the 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 path. Noah loved this, he was very excited when they came zooming past. ⁣
⁣
We finished the walk off with 30 minutes in the pier 𝗮𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. The kids won 556 tickets, which they were absolutely chuffed to pieces with! 🎫 ⁣

These costumes are from @costumesdotcomuk . They have a super arrange of Halloween outfits for adults and kids, so you can have the best 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗻 this October. ⁣

They are great 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. Noah’s included the cape, mask and gloves. Isla’s included the dress, which is all in one and the wig came separately. We used the adult wig as I thought it would get more use. ⁣

Today we had fun 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 a new location: Paignton and surrounding areas. We parked up at Preston and walked along the coast from Preston Sands to Goodrington Sands. ⁣

We stopped for Sunday lunch at a lovely pub by 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿 where we had the biggest desserts we’ve ever seen. ⁣
⁣
There are some amazing 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 along this route, walking over the cliff at Roundham was just amazing. The kids were gutted the splash park was closed for Winter 🤣⁣

It was such a nice day, we finished it off by spending lots of our 2ps in the pier amusements. 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗿 was fun, the kiddies loved it.⁣

We’ve started our half term week with a bang and I think we’re going to have a lot of fun. Mostly because I’ll be in the 𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝘂𝗯 for the entire week! Well near enough. ⁣

We are staying in this 𝗽𝗼𝗱 - it’s pretty cool and compact. It looked a bit different than the lodges on the site. I’ll show you around in my stories over the week. ⁣

We’ve been swimming, for a 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 around the site and we are busy planning the rest of our half term. ⁣
⁣
We’ve never stayed in the south of Devon before, so we’re looking forward to exploring and finding new places. Ps it took us 6 hours to 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 down here! I’m hoping the trip home is a bit quicker…. 🤣⁣

I think I have found my vocation in life: duck rearing. I fell in love with MummyBird’s little week old ducklings today. It reminded me of when I was younger and had a pet duck. I want to do it again. They all had a little snuggle on auntie Sonia’s shoulders 🙂
