This afternoons activity with Daddy looked like lots of fun: they gathered sticks and the kiddies built their own pile of firewood for a camp fire. They then sat around the fire pit to test whose camp fire would flame up the best!

Isla created a very structured camp fire, logical and a pattern to where she placed her sticks. Noahs looked more sporadic but covered a wider area.

Neither camp fires took fire, it was quite windy. So the kiddies enjoyed a hot chocolate and marshmallow around their piles of sticks.

They had fun though and that’s the main thing. I’m loving all of these practical tasks they’re doing with Daddy.

I’ve been waiting, all day, for someone to tell me it’s all a dream and we are still going to Dubai. But, unfortunately, no one jumped out screaming April #fool and alas, we are still at home. I’m gutted.

Lots to look forward to though and right now it’s about focussing on our main objective: stay at home at all times, unless to buy essential food & walk the dogs! I have actually loved being at home everyday. It’s my favourite place.

This afternoons activity with Daddy...

“We are very excited to try out this new food from Forthglade, it smells woofing delicious” 🐾 Straight from the doggies mouth!

I am very excited to announce that I am a new ambassador for @forthglade. What does that mean? Well, I get to try out the products and tell you all how good they are and get special offers and discounts for my followers too!

It’s such a strange time with lockdown, however finding out about Forthglade couldn’t have come at a better time. When I went to get our usual dog foods in the supermarket it had all sold out. So, resorting to online orders seemed a very natural thing to do to ensure our furbabies are fed.

This food is a minimum of 75% meat or fish and is free from junk. With Snoopy, he has a tummy condition which means we have to be careful what he eats, it’s perfect. We will keep you posted on what they thought! 🐾 #gifted

My favourite pics from March...

The kiddies had a lot of fun playing in the bath today. Swimming pools are closed, it’s too cold to get outside in a paddling pool so we put our swimming costumes on and pretended!

The kids had loads of fun making sparkly bath water and foaming soap shapes with @kidsstuffcrazy products. It’s amazing how fun products like this can keep the kiddies entertained for hours.

They literally played in the bath for an hour. The water had gone cold by the time they got out. It was the perfect indoor fun activity, especially as it was wet outside today.

If you’re homeschooling and self isolating with young children why not make a fun bath and invite the kids to make a mess with whatever you have in the bathroom! We also tried to make our own bubble bath using washing up liquid and #citrus juice - it wasn’t a nice smell 😂 the kiddies will try again in the week.

You can get the Magical Sparkle bubble bath and Foaming Soap from Kids Stuff Crazy at @superdrug - check out my review on the blog. #linkinbio

The kiddies had a lot...

Today has been a busy day, but nice and chilled at the same time. We let the kiddies have iPad and Xbox time this morning; our homeschool doesn’t give out homework! They built some cool stuff in Minecraft and worked together. Which was nice to see.

After lunch we took a longer walk than in the week, across the river. This is a walking route that is direct from our doorstep and took us 90 minutes in total, part of our one exercise a day under lockdown rules. It was nice to get some fresh air and just talk about whatever comes into our heads. We spoke about a lot of random things. 7 & 9 year olds do come out with some funny comments. Noahs favourites are “would you rathers”. We got home and Daddy made a delicious roast dinner and I did a deep #clean in the bathroom. Then had a long hot bath!

No rush for any of these things as we seemingly have about 12 weeks of working at home and possibly months of homeschooling. I just hope we can have family over soon as we miss them all.

Today has been a busy...

I am running a day behind 🤦🏼‍♀️ I keep falling asleep and not posting my photos. I’ll catch up today... This is #fresh. Getting out in the fresh air has been a complete dream over the past week. When you’re told you can’t do something, it makes you want to do it more. Like when Hubby said we have to be careful about the food we eat, I wanted to eat it all!

This photo was the kiddies playing football with Daddy whilst I walked with them with the doggies. It’s something that’s becoming a habit after we finish homeschooling.

It’s a shame as Daddy normal gets out all of the time. On a typical Sunday he’ll go out for a 3 hour bike ride in the mornings. Possibly go swimming with the kids too. Walk the dogs with us later in the afternoon. I think this “1 exercise” rule will be effecting him more than anyone else I know. It’s also makes family decisions hard, if Daddy goes out on his bike he can’t walk with us. It’s very necessary with the lockdown rules.
Just think how much we’ll all appreciate a long bike ride and driving to the beach for the day when all of this is over.

I am running a day...

Until tomorrow...

The top 12 toys for Christmas 2019

I was super excited to see the DreamToys top 12 toys for Christmas 2019 list a couple of weeks ago. I go into panic mode, as I must have those toys! Well, the kids, however there is one on the list that I want for Christmas. It’s no shock that Lego, Frozen and Toy Story are amongst the top. so, without further ado here are the top toys for Christmas 2019…

Barbie DreamPlane Playset

This looks amazing, the Barbie DreamPlane Playset looks like there is plenty to keep your little ones occupied. You can put all the items and dolls into the plane as a storage device whilst you are not using it. It comes with some fabulous accessories, including travel accessories and a puppy. The food trolley is super cute too. Retailing at around £49.

Blume Dolls

I have never heard of these little Blume Dolls before. They look super cute. They look like great little stocking fillers for £8. They are little dolls that come in their own flower pot and there are 10 to collect. They have squishy hair and their hair matches the fancy outfits. I just know Isla would love these – who doesn’t love the collectibles toy craze these days!

Frozen 2 ‘Into the Unknown’ Elsa Doll

This is going to be a huge hit for Winter 2019 as the movie is coming out today! EEK. The Frozen 2 ‘Into the Unknown’ Elsa Doll is adorable. She sings the song Into the unknown, from the movie and says 14 phrases from the movie too. The dress lights up and she comes with a pair of shoes too. It’s a great doll to celebrate the new movie out at the cinema today. This doll is currently £40.

Harry Potter Knight Bus

I love LEGO and this is the toy I want for Christmas, I love Harry Potter and this looks like so much fun. Oh, and my favourite colour is purple. This Harry Potter Knight Bus from LEGO is £34.99, it comes with a Harry Potter figure and 2 others. The details in this set look incredible, a sliding bed and swinging chandelier when the bus swings around corners so do these things. I cannot wait to build this.

L.O.L. Surprise! 2-in-1 Glamper

Isla would desperately want this, she is obsessed with L.O.L. At £85.00 this L.O.L Surprise! 2-in-1 Glamper is more a main Christmas present item but it comes with a lot. So, it folds up into a moving vehicle which is a handy toy store to keep your dolls safe. There are 55+ surprises to unwrap with this, the glamper has 10+ hangout areas and it even has a DJ booth. Dolls can slide down the 2-storey water slide, swim in the light up pool and get ready at the vanity before strutting their stuff on the runway.

Nerf Elite Fortnite SP-L

This is a great toy for Fortnite fan, the Nerf Elite Fortnite SP-L is only £16 and comes in a bright yellow casing like the game. You can pretend you are in the real game. We do not play it our house yet, I have managed to avoid this massive game as Noah is still only 9. But, I am sure he would still want this under the tree on Christmas morning.

These are so cute, I have never heard of Owleez before but I know Isla would have! She is £40 and is an interactive pink owl. You have to teach your very own baby owl how to fly. Practice makes perfect. She learns how to fly by you swinging her through the air. So clever. She responds to touch, movement and care. What a fabulous idea!

PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Super PAWs Mighty Jet Command Centre

What a great toy for any PAW Patrol fans. The PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Super PAWs Mighty Jet Command Centre is a great idea as the jet turns into the command centre. A 2 in 1 toy for great imaginative play. Currently £49.99, perfect for 3 – 4 year olds. This playset has so much going on, figures and secret buttons – looks like a lot of fun.

Peppa Pig Peppa’s Stage Playset

We still love Peppa Pig in this house, the kids watch it at least once a week. It’s like they can’t help themselves. The Peppa Pig Peppa’s Stage Playset looks like a lot of fun and it is a great price too for £19.99. The set is a theatre stage where you can let your imaginations run wild. Lots of fun accessories to play with too.

I have never heard of these before. It’s an interactive pet that comes in a few different colours. Rizmo is a cute little alien whose landed in your living room – they respond to touch, motion and sound and have a life cycle of baby, toddler and adult. Such a great concept, I bet toddler stages are fun!

Ryan’s World Super Surprise Safe

Unlock the fun with the Ryan’s World Super Surprise Safe. This large surprise-filled safe brings new fun to unboxing. Kids can use the key to open the safe and discover cool Ryan’s World inspired surprises inside, such as articulated figures, mix and match build a characters, treasure, and so much more! Push and reveal, smash and surprise, decode and discover all of the amazing surprises inside! A secret, locked compartment reveals the ultimate surprises. Each safe has over 30 fun surprises inside! Such a great toy, £34.99.

Toy Story 4 True Talkers

I love Toy Story 4, we finally watched it at the weekend. Forky is so funny, it made us all laugh. So the Toy Story 4 True Talkers are £13.99 each and come in most of the characters. Forky has to be my favourite. Forky says 15+ different phrases from the movie and is great for your little ones to bring the movie to life at home. Forky even has moveable facial expressions – what a great idea for a toy. I think any child will love this for Christmas.

This popular list is always spot on, these are the exact things the kiddies circle in the shopping magazines and then scribble on their lists. I am so looking forward to building the Harry Potter Knight Bus! I am hoping we get to feature some of these top 12 toys for Christmas 2019 – if we do I will be sure to put them on my blog and social media so keep your eyes peeled.

Prices at time of post, may change throughout the year.
