It sounds silly but I love bathtime, I always have, right from my first pregnancy to today. When pregnant there was nothing I enjoyed more than lying in a full, hot, bubbly bath reading a book or watching my favourite TV show at the time. Then when the babies arrived, it was bathing with them or watching them play nicely in the bath. There is always something magical about bathtime and it is one of my favourite times of the day.

infacare

When Infacare sent me their new baby bath it got me thinking about the best things about bathtime, seeing the children playing happily together in the bubbles. A baby’s skin is ten times more delicate than adult skin so InfaCare is formulated to be as natural and gentle as possible. That’s no exception for my little ones either, they too have delicate skin and keeping it soft and clean is important. Especially after busy days outdoors getting muddy!

What are my favourite things about bathtime?

islaFirstly, it doesnt matter what the time is, the children are always up for having a bath. Whether it is nipping in the bath with Daddy or cleaning down from a day at the beach. They just love being the bath. It is actually quite de-stressing for me when the children have a bath because I can hear them playing nicely (mostly) and it makes me smile. It usually means that I can sit down with a cup of tea for 20 minutes – cheeky I know.

Imaginative play – this is important to me as it encourages the children to get creative and the storys and characters they create is amazing. Isla and Noah are usually a parent and a child, or they pretend they are older siblings than what they are now. They take it in turns being the boss too, so sometimes Noah is Daddy, Isla is Mummy for example. They are really cute. I tend to sit around near the bathroom, as opposed to sitting in there with them, so they can’t see me. It usually means that they get into their roles without getting shy – which they tend to do.

chattering

Sibling time – I know I may have covered this with the above, but on a seperate note is it important to add that the children get sibling time. And unless one is super tired and grumpy, they usually play the nicest when they are in the bath. They share, they play, they talk, they create and they laugh. It is where they are the best.

What are you favourite things about bathtime? I would love to hear them in the comments below.
