macmillan-coffee-morning-2013

Today was the day that the world came together to have the worlds biggest coffee morning, we did this at work and I managed to bake up a few little peanut butter and jam muffin treats.

It’s Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event. They ask people across the UK to hold a coffee morning, where donations on the day are made to Macmillan. In 2012 115,000 people signed up, raising a record Β£15 million – which is totally amazing.

What’s it all for?

Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face. No matter how simple or fancy you make your coffee morning, you’ll be raising money to make sure everyone has a Macmillan team in their corner; from diagnosis, through treatment, and afterwards. That way, no one will have to face cancer alone.

You can find details of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on their website and you can like the Facebook Page or follow on Twitter: @macmillancoffee.

We pulled off a lovely round of cakes and coffee this morning, raffles and guess how many coffee beans are in the jar and hopefully we will have raised some money for a very good cause. I am glad I did my little bit of baking to help and also donated a little bit too.

It was all for you Grandad!
