That’s right, next week on Thursday 16th February between 4pm and 6pm, UKMumsTV are holding a ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ twitter party. You can join in with the fun activities and win some amazing prizes too. What’s this in aid of? To celebrate the launch of the DVD of course. You can now enjoy the wonderful animation any time, perfect to keep the little ones occupied in half term next week.

We’re going on a bear hunt is a lovely story for children, written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. It’s got a beautiful repeating theme throughout too so young children can pick it up quickly. You MUST have heard the song by now:

We’re going on a bear hunt.
We’re going to catch a big one.
I’m not scared.
What a beautiful day!

Isla came home singing this once, when she was at pre-school, she loved it. I have never read the book, so I am excited about reading it to her for the first time next week. Her eyes lit up when we watched the adapation on TV over Christmas, when the children started singing their song. I loved it. She looked so happy.

The heart-warming special expands the world of the book and features the voices of Olivia Colman, Pam Ferris and Mark Williams as brand new characters Mum, Grandma and Dad. Author Michael Rosen also makes an appearance as the Bear. The film also features a brand new song entitles Me & You specially composed by British singer-songwriter George Ezra.

You can see the trailer below, if you can’t wait until the DVD arrives:

What is a Twitter party?

It’s a lot of fun for starters! A Twitter party is a live chat using Twitter and the Hashtag(#) feature to connect everyone together. The hashtag for this party is simply #BearHunt, so if you use that in your Twitter posts and tag @UKMumsTV and @MummyConstant – we will all be able to communicate together. They are usually quite fast paced, so make sure to check back to @UKMumsTV often to find out about activities and competitions. UKMumsTV are hosting this fun filled event.

Where can I buy the DVD?

You can buy the we’re going on a bear hunt DVD on Amazon, and download it from iTunes too. Looking forward to seeing you online on Thursday 16th February at 4pm.

Make sure to follow: @mummyconstant, @UKMumsTV and use the hashtag #BearHunt.
