Today is the first day of Spring and I am really excited about this one. I can’t remember the last time we had a garden that we really enjoyed, it was probably when Noah was a baby. So that’s 8 years ago. We’ve just not really had the right property since.

I’m determined to not ruin the garden at our new house. We have such a huge collection of plants and flowers, I can’t wait to see them all in full swing. It’s definitely getting there, lots of colour from all directions. We currently have a bit of a mess on the patio where the pond and greenhouse was, but I’m sure we will sort that out before Summer gets here.

With the new Spring season, I’m hoping that it will be a fresh start with the kiddies too. Sticker charts and earning rules are at the ready. We’re 4 days in and so far so good. I just have to set my expectations correctly. I can’t expect them to stop bickering altogether. But I do expect Noah to stop being so aggressive towards his sister. And also us. It’s draining.

They’ve even started this thing where they start play fighting as they can hit each other hard and pretend it’s a game. But it soon gets out of hand. One of them ends up in tears and 99.9% of the time it will be Isla.

She’s not completely innocent though. She winds him up tremendously. She has the ability to slightly look at something and it winds him up. But I cannot condone the hitting and kicking. We all get wound up, but we can’t deal with it by punching and kicking each other. This is what I need to work on over Spring!

Wish me luck…
