**CLOSED** Do you want to win a Gruffalo Trunki and Gruffalo Chums set from Trunki? Well all I need you to do is write a paragraph in true Julia Donaldson style, create your own animal whose on the hunt for a “good” mouse and let your imagination run wild with you, to think up 3 new things that the Gruffalo has! So for example you will need to change the rhyme for whatever animal you think up and make up rhyming body parts with the animal recipe. I am very excited about this competition and I hope you join in!

A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood.
A badger saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.
“Where are you going to little brown mouse?
Come & have supper in my badgers set house.”

It’s terribly kind of you squirrel, but no, I’m going to have lunch with a gruffalo’
‘A gruffalo? What’s a gruffalo?”
“A gruffalo, Why didn’t you know?”
“He has gigantic fangs” “his feet are hair and scary” “and he has legs the size of a giant”
“Where are you meeting him?”
“Right here by this lake and his favourite food is squirrel steak”
“Squirrel steak” shrieked the squirrel in horror – I’m off, good my little mouse and the squirrel scuttled off”
“Silly old squirrel, doesn’t he know, there’s no such thing as a gruffalo”

The mouse went deeper into the deep dark wood,
A badger saw the mouse, and the mouse looked good,
“Where are you going to little brown mouse?
Come for a snack in my sett hole house.”
“It’s splendidly great of you Badger but no,
I’m having a snack with a Gruffalo.”
“A Gruffalo, what’s a Gruffalo?”
“A Gruffalo, why, didn’t you know, he has a big behind and terrible breath,
And one swipe of his paw spells certain death.”
“Where are you meeting him?”
“Here by this flower, and his favourite food is Badger sweet and sour.”
“Badger sweet and sour, I’m off”, Badger said
And quick as the wind she turned and fled
“Silly old Badger, doesn’t she know, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo!”
A mouse was dancing down by the lake,
When out of the grass popped a sneaky snake.
” your dancing is pretty by the waterside,
why not come closer and watch me slide?”
Little mouse smiled but whispered ” I shall have to decline,
for I’m waiting for the gruffalo, we’re going out to dine.”
A Gruffalo? What’s a Gruffalo?”
“A Gruffalo! Why didn’t you know?
He’s got fangs & sharp teeth, whiter than snow,
with eyes like a cobweb that glisten and glow.”
Fangsssss you say? larger than these?
Oh yes nodded mouse watching snake slide back to the trees.
” Goodbye little mouse, enjoy your time with your friend ”
snake hissed ,as she slid around the bend.
Silly snake doesn’t she know? there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo!

i have struggled how to get my story to you lol, im not the best with computers. here is my story…….A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood.

‘A gruffalo? What’s the gruffalo?’
‘A gruffalo! Why didn’t you know?
He has fake moustache and six ears on his head,
He is terribly grumpy when he rolls out of bed!’
‘Where are you meeting him?’ ‘Right here, where it’s flat,
And his favourite food is battered fried bat!’
‘Battered fried bat?’ Bat cried ‘Oh nay!’
And he flapped his wings and flew away.
‘Silly old bat, doesn’t he know,
There is no such thing as a gruffalo!’

A long Worm saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.
“Where are you going to little brown mouse?
Come & have supper in my underground Mud house!.”
”It’s terribly kind of you, Wormy, but no –
I’m going to have lunch with a Gruffalo.”
”A Gruffalo? What’s a Gruffalo?”
“A Gruffalo! Why didn’t you know?
He has five hundred tongues, and a large hairy bottom.
And he growls in a way that is NEVER forgotten!!!.”
“Where are you meeting him?”
“Well, right about here!,
And his favourite drink is Wormy-Head beer!.”
”Worm Beer! I’m off”. The Wormy then cried.
“Goodbye, little mouse,” he slithered off to hide.
“Silly old Worm! Why, Doesn’t he know,
There’s no such thing as a Gruffalo?”
There was a lion who feared nothing except the crowing of cocks. A chill would go down his spine whenever he heard a cock crowing.
One day he confessed his fear to the the Grufalo, who was greatly amused.
“How can the crowing of a cock hurt you?” he asked the lion. “Think about it!”
Just then a mosquito began circling the Grufalo’s head, frightening him out of his wits.
“If it gets into my ear I’m doomed!” he shrieked, flailing at the insect with.
Now it was the lion’s turn to feel amused.
Moral: If we could see our fears as others see them we would realise that most of our fears make no sense!

A Skunk saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.
“Where are you going to little brown mouse?
Come & hang out in my fragrant house.”
”It’s terribly kind of you, Skunk, but no –
I’m going to have lunch with a Gruffalo.”
”A Gruffalo? What’s a Gruffalo?”
“A Gruffalo! Why didn’t you know?
He has a rotting foot, no. …..make that two.
And his tail whiffs… much smellier than you!.”
“Where are you meeting him?”
“Here, in this spot,
And his favourite food is Skunk Hot Pot.”
”Skunk Hot Pot! I’m off”. Skunk muttered.
“Goodbye, little mouse,” and off he ran and scuttered.
“Silly old Skunk! Doesn’t he know,
There’s no such thing as a Gruffalo?”
“I won’t let him beat me, I will get that mouse!”,
the Gruffalo said to his Gruffalo spouse.
“He may well look small and quiet and sweet,
but Gruffalo chops are his favourite treat”.
He thought of his child who he had to protect,
then went out and bought the ‘Gruffalo pet’.
Inside it’s box it shuffled about, and
out of a hole poked a long, ginger snout.
It snorted and snuffled, drool dripped from it’s jaws,
the box started moving and out poked two paws.
It’s claws were like talons and scratched they at the floor,
the box moved again and out popped two more.
They scrambled and scratched and scurried ahead,
then from the top of the box poked a fear-some head.
It was bumpy and lumpy and scaly and hairy,
frightfully ugly and incredibly scary.
It had eyes like steel and it’s stare was like ice,
and it’s favourite food was curry and mice!!
Think I did the above entry wrong (did’nt follow the example sorry, so here’s my ammended version if that’s okay?).

“A Gruffalo! Why didn’t you know?
His belly is big and his palms are hairy
and when he snarls it’s incredibly scary!!
“Where are you meeting him?”
“Here, by this maze
And his favourite food is Dog Bolognese.
”Dog Bolognese?! Oh gosh how weird”
and quick as a flash the dog dissappeared.
“Silly old Dog! Doesn’t he know,
There’s no such thing as a Gruffalo?”

A Christmas fairy saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.
“Where are you going to little brown mouse?
Come & have tea in my Christmas tree house.”
”It’s terribly kind of you, Christmas fairy, but no –
I’m going to have lunch with a Gruffalo.”
”A Gruffalo? What’s a Gruffalo?”
“A Gruffalo! Why didn’t you know?
He has big fat feet, covered with ice and snow,
And his footprints look like craters in our thick Christmas snow.”
“Where are you meeting him?”
“Here, by this Christmas cake,
And his favourite food is Christmas Fairy steak!.”
”Christmas Fairy steak! I’m off”. Christmas Fairy blushed.
“Goodbye, little mouse,” she flew off in a rush!
“Silly old Christmas Fairy! Doesn’t she know,
There’s no such thing as a Gruffalo?”

He has huge spikes on his face, and a slimy green tummy.
and a scary groan that will make you feel quite funny .
His family is round for big Christmas feast,
so needs one like you to feed all the beasts.”

“Here, by this post,
And his favorite food is reindeer-roast between 2 slices of toast.”
”Reindeer Roast! I’m off”. Reindeer cried.
