As you may have heard me scream from the rooftops, Micro Scooters recently sent us a family of scooters. Yes, one each for the kids and one each for Mummy and Daddy. I can honestly say, we have never had so much fun and the dogs too! We have a new Sunday scooting routine, which is a lot of fun and the dogs get a nice walk too.

We found a route near home, that is just over 3 miles and it takes us around an hour to scoot all the way around it. It’s perfect for little legs, like Isla, who doesn’t scoot particularly quickly and also her energy runs low, quick. It’s enough that the dogs get a good run, keeping up with us zooming around the route and it’s just fun having that family time together on a Sunday morning. The children love it and so do we. Daddy now regularly takes his scooter out in the mornings with the dogs. He can get further, quicker, so its a win win.

I have been looking into facts about scooting and I found out that 45 minutes of scooting burns around about 350 calories. Thats good news. It feels like no effort at all! Well my right leg always feels a little tighter than my left leg as that’s the one I scoot with. So I will definitely be doing this more often. It’s better exercise than biking. We are on a mission to find scooting tracks/routes around Cambridgeshire, including hunting around the National Trust sites that we know and love.

It’s nice to see such happy, fun faces, whilst we are out on our scooters. Not just from us, but people we pass too. We get a lot of looks like “are they adult scooters?” and we hear a lot of children saying “look they have big ones”. Everyone will have one by the end of the year. Brilliant fun! How wonderful to go scooting as a family, so great to find something active you can all do and this sounds perfect. I bet the kids are really keen on you joining in, I’m temped to look into it too, though using them with Nick’s Mum in Brighton would be more practicle than here in Cornwall with all our hills!
