On Saturday, after searching endlessly for an available Father Christmas – he is a busy man didn’t you know! We finally decided that Father Christmas would have to come to Constant Cottage for a flying visit before Christmas Day. Nanny & Grandad took the little ones out for a quick stroll and a play in the park, whilst Father Christmas had a little Mummy looking elf who created a grotto in the playroom. Especially for Father Christmas…

I knew I had a lot of fabric in my craft cupboard and so I got to work: staple gun, strong tape, fabric and not forgetting Christmas lights and soon enough I had sectioned off a little area for Father Christmas to come and visit Noah and Isla. Probably the best, most fitting fort I have ever built in my life.

Before, it was a playroom and there were toys everywhere. It was a complete turn around after taping and securing all the fabric to the conservatory roof – this wasn’t easy. But it held, I was impressed. The finishing touch was the little added Christmas light effect.

We got Father Christmas ready, shhhh, don’t tell the children – Grandad had the pleasure of being Father Christmas and I was shocked that both Noah and Isla had no idea what so ever…

It was great fun doing this at home and the Christmas Grotto went down a treat…

I am using this as a entry to a fabulous competition over at the furniture market, the competition is for Britains Best Blanket Fort and you can see the T&C’s here.
