🪺 I love Spring, the pretty pops of colour and the chocolate overload… followed by beautiful countryside walks. 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲 have a beautiful collection of Easter & Spring goodies this year and we got to try the 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 & 𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗹𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲. ⁣

Made with layers of chocolate sponge and velvety chocolate hazelnut cream, it was absolutely 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴. We loved the little nests on top of the cake too and the hazelnuts around the side gave it a nice crunch. 𝗬𝘂𝗺𝗺𝘆!⁣

It is the perfect indulgent Spring cake if you are celebrating this season. They also have mini cake boxes, a Crème Brûlée cake and a baked lemon & blueberry cake too. Lots of choices depending on what kind of occasion it is.⁣

We are all still struggling after losing both of our furbabies… but 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭 & we’re doing it 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.⁣

We had to say a very heavy hearted goodbye to our boy, 𝗦𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗽𝘆, on Friday. Less than 90 days since we said goodbye to his brother, 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼. We are all completely heartbroken.⁣ 💔
⁣
Snoopy was the 𝘤𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴𝘵 dog I’ve ever known. Always up for a snuggle. As soon you as you sat on the sofa, he’d be there tucked up in your legs or by your chest. We’re going to miss his 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘧𝘺𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 too, he made us laugh so much over his 13 years and 9 months. ⁣🐾
⁣
He has been the most unluckiest 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹; he suffered with ear infections from age 1. Had surgery on his ears which reduced his hearing. Then he went blind. Then he got diabetes, a liver tumour & an illness called EPI. He got through all of these things with a wag in his tail as he had us. ⁣
⁣
This time it seems so much harder as we have now have no dogs. 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘚𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘱𝘺 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰. The house is so quiet. It feels so wrong and we all feel lost.⁣
⁣
I hope Rambie was waiting for you and your running on 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀, through 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 & chasing 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 all day everyday.⁣

We’ve lost both of our best friends & I’m not sure how we’re going to get through this… they’ve left such a big hole! ⁣

Quorn®️ challenged me to make a quick, delicious & meat free meal. 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 are perfect for lunchtimes whilst working from home. They are also perfect for family lunchtimes on a Saturday as we have little time after clubs.⁣

I used some 𝗤𝘂𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝘆 𝗡𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 to make a quick and tasty meal (since recording this I now use the 𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘺𝘦𝘳 which is even quicker than the conventional oven).⁣
⁣
Being vegetarian is definitely made easier with Quorn products. They are tasty, usually quick to cook & versatile. Isla & Noah love these nuggets too, they prefer them to meat. A family bag of Crispy Nuggets lasts a long time, so they are 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲.⁣

It’s 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 coming up and I love any excuse to celebrate the special ladies in my life. Gift boxes are my new favourite type of gift too, the items look sweet in their nests. ⁣

@sandandsparklesgifts sent me this lovely 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝘅 (as an early Mother’s Day treat). I love it & I’m sure any Mum would. It has certainly done the trick too: the beach theme took me back to our holiday last Summer, in Devon. Being together. It made me smile as that was the 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 we had with our pups. Happy International Women’s Day… I’m lucky enough to have grown up with independent & strong women all around me. It’s where I get my resilience & determination from.

It’s something that I want to ensure Isla has too: to be resilient is to have patience and strength. To keep a smile, even if deep down it’s painful. Determination is to have focus and passion. To keep going even if the end is not quite in sight.

I can see a lot of this in her already… she is far more confident than I ever was at 10 and she knows her own mind. Which I love.

Now I need to make sure she has self confidence, self awareness and self love. So she can endure all that life throws at her and she can listen to her body & mind to guide her.

I love that I’m still learning things about myself on this motherhood journey: some of those things I’m learning from Isla.

I’m very proud of my baby girl 🥰

This is 𝗝𝗼𝗲’𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗲 from the Joe Wicks Lean in 15, the shift plan (𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘶𝘴). I’ve put a twist on it as I’ve used 𝗤𝘂𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀 instead.⁣

Get cleaning the air fryer with me… 🧼 A slightly different post from me tonight: a handy little tip for cleaning your air fryer.⁣

There’s something about a cleaning tip that makes cleaning that bit 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳. We use the air fryer everyday, we love it. Keeping it clean is important.⁣
⁣
So: ⁣
⁣
▪️ add 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗱 to the trays⁣
▪️ add water to 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 the plates inside the tray⁣
▪️ air fry for 𝟯 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘀⁣
⁣
If you’ve only been cooking vegetables and things like that then this is 𝘴𝘶𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 to clean the trays. Simply rinse and dry. ⁣
⁣
If you’ve cooked meats or food that sticks to the trays, like cheese, then give it a good wash afterwards. The air frying will have helped to release those foods!⁣

If you saw my stories yesterday you will have seen I finally got around to building my 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗢 𝗢𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗱. It was a birthday present & I’ve been saving it for a quiet weekend.⁣

Isla is so close to her level 6 certificate. She’s been coming on in leaps and bounds over the last few weeks… her confidence is definitely improving with her @gymfinitykids classes.

Today was awards week for Isla’s class, and I love they they dish out “part way” certificates to those who haven’t quite levelled up yet. Everyone gets a certificate. It’s so lovely.

With my discount code they waive the joining fee, which is £30, so don’t forget to use it when signing up your child to @gymfinitykids…

We arrived at Barn Farm, in Birchover around lunchtime. Set up camp and had lunch, then took a walk around the village it was lovely. Warm weather, great views, a fab park, pause to watch the cows being herded and a drink in the local pub!
