Picture this: beautiful stone cottage, warm & toastie, welcome box on the table full of goodies, hot tub bubbling in the distance. That was what greeted us when we turned up to our little staycation recently. It was amazing. We arrived late on a Friday night after a long drive and it was so welcomed. We then spent the rest of the weekend tending to animals, exploring, adventures and socialising. If you are looking for a family holiday in the UK this year then this is the place for you, North Hayne Farm Cottages, in Devon.
Isla was recently sent a farm yard set from the new range of Weebles, Weebledown Farm. We got the new Wobbily farm mill and barn set, with a Woollaby the Sheep on his wool bag. Isla spends quite a long time playing with this set, it has some great features too.
Today is world photography day #WorldPhotographyDay, one of my favourite kind of days. I love taking photos and going to great, yet sometimes silly, lengths to get the best photos. There are a lot of fun articles flying around the internet today celebrating photography and the lengths phtoographers go to, to get that perfect shot. I’ve stood on tables, climbed up ladders, lay down on the floor, crawled into tight spaces all to get that perfect shot and get involved in the action. Sometimes they do not work, sometimes they do! What I love about photography, is now that I am more experienced, usually I get the photo result of what I envisioned in the first place. This is something that is quite hard to do.
We have just come home from a wonderful week in Norfolk, not only because the weather was amazing but because the accommodation we stayed in was too. The holiday cottage was on a complex of cottages called Hall Farm Cottages, I didn’t really know what to expect before we got there but we were all so pleasantly surprised. You have to stay there to really get a feel for the beautiful views and the, simply, stunning location.
We had a fabulous day in the Spring sunshine yesterday at Sacrewell Farm, it is situated just north of Peterborough and I am so glad we found it. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun seeing the animals, the baby lambs and stroking the ponies. If you are ever near the area I would completely recommend it.
We were sent a fabulous book for Isla’s second birthday from itsyourstory.co.uk, it is a fantastic personalised book website where you can buy books from all different themes for all different ages. A trip to the farm for Isla’s birthday is such a great idea for a 2 year old as she loves pointing at things and telling me what they are and the fact her face is in the book makes it all the more magical for her.
On Saturday we found a gap in the rain and decided it was time to do something and we went to Thurleigh Farm, which is our local activity farm. It stayed dry enough for us to have a bit of fun in the park, with the animals and a fire engine journey and then a lot of fun inside in the soft play. It was great as it was quite empty – the place to ourselves. It was late in the afternoon!
Last weekend we took a trip to Thurleigh Farm, there was a break in the rain and miserable weather – so we grabbed it with both hands. We have a year family pass, so making the most of these afternoons at the farm is a lot of fun – seeing the animals, tractor rides, soft play and the adventure playground means that there is a lot to do.
Saturday we took the kids to Ferry Meadows, Nene park in Peterborough, which is a huge park with trains, adventure playgrounds, forest and lakes. The kids love it there as do we as they can roam around and be free.
