Healthy and happy skin has a special glow to it – and while we all want glowing skin, it takes proper care to achieve this. While many skincare products promise drastic results and transformation for skin, it is important to remember that healthy skin takes both internal and external care.

Here are 7 tips to help achieve glowing skin:

1. Stay Hydrated

If you are battling dehydration, you will feel and see it in your skin. It is critical to stay hydrated both internally and externally, and that means having the right amount of water as well as using the products that offer proper hydration for your unique skin needs. Carry around a water bottle with you to stay hydrated throughout the day, and be sure to take time with your skincare so you treat it as you need to and don’t strip your skin of its natural oils.

2. Exfoliate

Exfoliating is essential to remove buildup on the skin and reveal glowing skin underneath. Everyone’s skin is different, so it may take some time to figure out how often your skin needs to be exfoliated and which products are the best for your skin. After all, if you over exfoliate it can end up doing more damage than good.

3. Apply a Retinol Face Cream at Night

A retinol helps to boost turnover of your skin, and when you apply it at night it gives your skin the best chance to benefit from the product while your skin is already in the stage of night for repair. A product like the BL+ Retinol face cream is gentle enough while also being effective to help your skin continue to look better and better. Just be sure to start slow and gradually increase the frequency of use for a retinol, and always use a sunscreen!

4. Apply Sunscreen Daily

Sunscreen is essential to protect your skin and help reduce the amount of damage that it faces from the sun. A sunscreen and sun damage can lead to sunburn, damage, and cancer – so taking this step is essential to not only help your skin glow but to also protect it.

5. Use the Right Cleanser for Your Skin Type

The right cleanser can make a significant difference for your skin. Choose one according to your skin type, and be sure to avoid cleansers that contain alcohol because this can strip and irritate your skin and have the opposite effects that you are looking for.

6. Take Probiotics

Probiotics help to boost your gut health with good bacteria and lead to a balanced microbiome. If your microbiome is off, it is likely that this will reflect in your skin.

7. Use Face Massaging Tools

Face massaging tools help to reduce irritation, provide lymphatic movement, and boost circulation. This can naturally lead to glowing skin, and with consistent use the results will only continue to get better.

Glowy skin is dependent on a combination of all the things, including those listed above. There are also things you can do at home such as DIY face masks with honey and turmeric and ice rollers to help soothe your skin and bring out that glow. Check out my other lifestyle posts.
