Due to the weather we changed our plans to go to the salon, me for my roots and Isla wanted a little purple colouring in her hair. So instead the obvious thing to do was have tea and cake. Isla really enjoyed her brownie and hot chocolate. She sat and ate it really quickly too, which says a lot. We then had a chilled out afternoon watching the snow fall. It hasn’t really settled here though.
Today is my Mumma’s birthday. We went round hers for takeaway pizza after work and got to celebrate Mumma’s day but also find out the name of the latest addition to the family. Harper’s new little brother is called Max. My little nephew has a name. Yippee.
These are Noah’s footy boots! Daddy was working late tonight, normally he would have all of this football malarky covered. I asked Noah to clean his own boots and he did. They were sparkly and shiny when he had finished. The only problem was they were also soaking wet inside. But he didn’t seem to mind. Maybe next time we will clean them a few days before he needs to wear them.
Today we went to see Grandma after school and the kiddies had a nice chilled out evening. Grandma makes them their favourite dinner, with little pots of ketchup and they love it. After our little visit we went back home so I could log on and work. I am trying a new more flexible working pattern to see if that helps out with the family/work life balance. It’s very tricky!
We made the most out of the light whilst Isla was at Rainbows. We took the dogs for a walk, well Noah took them for a run. We stopped by the beautiful daffodils. They are simply magical when they bloom. Isla then ran through the woods and made sure to stop and have a go at all the apparatus that is spread along the track. He loved it.
Mondays are very busy. Not only is it a rush first thing and we always forget the school uniforms. So I am frantically trying to dry the uniforms over the radiators. But it just seems like a mad rush to get out of the door. I have no idea why. Every other day is so much calmer. Makes me feel like I am upside down like this photo! I am on a come down after my glorious cake and roast dinner from yesterday. I wish I could eat that every day… yes I am a piglet.
Happy Mother’s Day! We had a nice day: went for a walk with the kiddies in the morning and got some nice photos. I like the silly ones we got too. Like this one. I then saw my Mumma and Hubby’s family. Hubby cooked me a lovely roast dinner and made the most gigantic cake. He always makes perfect cakes. Nice memories for a nice family Sunday.
Today my brand new little nephew came home. He is so tiny. My Mum went round for her first hug and sent me this photo. You simply forget how tiny they are when they’re first born. He is so cute. My very first nephew (Newphew).
Tonight we went and stayed with friends it was a fun night. We had a spicy Tagine it was delicious and one of the first things I’ve been able to taste for weeks. The kids had their own dinner too. It was a lovely evening! Nice to have good friends, that cook incredible food!!
