We had a lovely afternoon at Wimpole Estates this week. We arrived just after midday and had a picnic by the main entrance, which was lovely and we spent the afternoon wondering around the grounds. It's such a lovely spot and a lot of fun for the children. You can walk for hours around the house, farm and woodland.

I didn't realise it was the first day of Spring on Sunday, until we got home from a trip to Home Farm at Wimpole Hall, a lovely National Trust estate near us. What a perfect way to spend the start of Spring, running around a beautiful location full of flowers and baby animals of course. The kids had a great time exploring and playing on the tractors.

Now who says that you cannot have a magical Great British family holiday? We certainly did this summer, and do in most locations that we visit. But, I have to admit that we did really love this holiday in particular: the superb quality of the holiday accomodation, it’s absolutely stunning location and the weather made it a completely fabulous holiday. Holidays for me are all about the memories and when I look back on the photos and videos it fills me with such warm feelings – that is what family holidays are all about.
When we went to Dorset at the end of June, we stayed about 10 minutes from Corfe Castle, which is just an amazing piece of history on a very huge hill that you can visit and learn all about who lived in it and what they got up to and how it became the ruins that it is today. It was fascinating. The fun you can have with the National Trust too made it all the better.

We thought we would make a trip to a different National Trust nature reserve today as we had a Constant family day, it was lovely. The sun was shining and the weather was absolutely beautiful. We didn't know what to expect from Wicken Fen, but we were greeted with a great walk and lots of things to explore along the way.

We took a trip to Lode today, to pay another visit to Anglesey Abbey, we really loved it from our last trip and we had lots of fun. We also signed up to the National Trust membership for a year, so we are going to make the most out of our local destinations.
