I have recently been nominated to create my favourite autumn winter 2014 outfits based on some fabulous collections at Debenhams. It is such a great store because you can literally get everything you want for you, the kids, your home and not forgetting the selections of toys: I love going to Debenhams at Christmas time. So what do I have in mind for autumn?
Boots and jeans with jumpers and scarfs are my favourite kind of autumn attire, I love keeping wrapped up warm and cosy, especially covering up my neck. I have my eyes peeled for boots at the moment and I have been scouring the Debenhams website for my favourites! I am not a very good summer person, I prefer layers and lots of them. Even at home, I have the heating on and a hot water bottle with a blanket, dressing gown and duvet. My husband thinks I am crazy! I probably am, but I feel the cold. So with autumn clothes its about looking good, feeling good and essentially keeping warm. So, my task is to create an outfit using items from one of our six key AW14 trends: Modern Military, Pastel Palette, Autumn Luxe, Blue Notes, Pinks & Berries or Winter Greens. I am very excited about this challenge, its like window shopping – only I get to do it from my comfortable armchair with my slippers on!
After I have chosen my outfit I have to nominate another blogger and I am going to choose an outfit for them. Ooh this is fun, so many lovely bloggers to choose from.
An autumn outfit for me
I loved the autumn luxe range the best, I was completely inspired by the clothes I was greeted with and instantly wanted to go shopping. I really hope I win the £500 worth of vouchers, I will be shopping until I drop. So what did I style for me:
- Miss Selfridge Cream dip dye gilet £55
- RJR John Rocha Designer blue slim leg jeans £35
- Red Herring Taupe stud detail shoulder bag £25
- Mantaray Khaki knitted cuff wedge ankle boots £45
- Too Faced Melted lipstick in nude £19
I love the gilet, I have been looking for one of these for months and the boots look so comfortable, I would finish the outfit off with the lovely nude melted lipstick. I love nude lips they make the rest of your face illuminate. I am so excited to get autumn shopping now.
Right now for my blogger selection, I am choosing Mummy Daddy Me as I know she always looks amazing in the clothes she wears and if I was to choose her outfit I would instantly pick the Pastel Palette as I know she will just make everything look amazing. Here is what I chose for Katie:
An autumn outfit for Katie
- Red Herring Peach crepe shift dress £19.60
- Red Herring grey patent pointed toe high court shoes £16
- Jasper Conran Designer light pink colour block zip pocket bowler bag £36
- Floozie by Frost French Ladies rose gold plated heart patterned watch £32
- Nails Inc Mayfair Lane Gel Effect polish £14
Such a great idea for a campaign, it has been so much fun choosing what I would wear and what Katie would wear and also seeing what Donna from Mummybird chose for me. I hope we get to go shopping together. How exciting!
