Isla loves puzzles, she also loves the Gruffalo stories, she will spend hours playing with them and so it was no surprise that when we received The Gruffalo shaped puzzles it became a favourite. Making them up and then breaking them up again, on repeat! I secretly think she challenges herself to do them quicker each time. It’s not just Isla that loves puzzles, her friends do too and she spends hours playing puzzles when they are over.
What I love about The Gruffalo shaped puzzles is that they are slightly different to normal as there isn’t the typical 4 corners, which is what we have taught Isla to start with. So instead, she has to use her eyes and process of elimination to get the outer edges of the puzzles and then fill in the rest of the puzzle. Of course, whilst making the puzzles up they told each other lines of the Gruffalo stories and other ones too, from Julia Donaldson. Isla is 3 and her friends vary from 3 to 7 and they all enjoyed this lovely puzzle collection.
The Ravensburger Gruffalo shaped puzzles come in a set of 4: Fox, Snake, Owl and The Gruffalo. Piece them all together to find out what he actually eats for his supper! “A roasted fox, a scrambled snake or owl ice cream what will Gruffalo have to eat as he’s extremely hungry and on the hunt to find some food in the deep dark woods! But Gruffalo thinks everyone is afraid of him and he will not get any food!” The puzzles are cut to different piece counts – either 10, 12, 14, 16 pieces, making the set ideal for use within a family with different aged children or when you have friends over.
