🧙‍♀️ Yay we finally made time to watch the new Hocus Pocus 2 movie and we absolutely loved it! It was a great way to kick off the countdown to Halloween.

It was also the perfect opportunity to road test my new mug… which I absolutely adore.

I’ve started to get the Autumn and Halloween decor out of the attic. The living room always feels full and homely at this time of year.

Two questions:

👀 Have you noticed my little visitor to the living room?

🎥 Have you watched the new movie, what did you think? 🍿

May your autumn be full of blue skies and cool walks… bobble hats and family talks.
Fresh air in your lungs and a crunch at your feet… where the working week ends and the weekends meet!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and got out in the fresh air. I needed a chilled weekend and I feel refreshed for the week ahead. I need to get a good fitness routine going which I’m hoping to start tomorrow 🍂

🍂 So it might just be time for the bobble hats to come out of hiding… anyone else live in hats during the colder months?

It’s been so nice to wrap up in layers of cosy jumpers, boots and jackets this week. I love “sweater weather” so much! If that made you laugh, then you’re my kinda people.

What is your go to Autumnal outfit? I’m in the need for inspiration 🍂

If I was a….

This took me forever to make but I loved doing it. I love being creative and I learnt to use CapCut which Isla absolutely loves. She squealed when I showed her this.

I have the template (which I might blog about as the one I followed wasn’t quite accurate) and I have a few sneaky ways of doing things!

I’ve loved seeing everyone else’s version of this and so I had to do my own! And I wouldn’t change a thing…

What would you be? 🥰

Is there anything more relaxing and calming than this view? The sun setting over the sea and the calmness in the sea too.

Made me smile looking back at my Summer photos today. I’ve had a day of “cosy” as I drank far too much last night at my friends 40th party… I danced all night and walked home with bare feet. The signs of a good night!

I’ve not been out and danced in years. I literally can’t remember the last time I did that! It was a nice break from being Mum & Dad. Letting your hair down is sometimes the best medicine from a stressful few weeks.

What do you do to unwind?

I think it’s really important to love the space where you work, for you spend a long time working in it! When designing my home office area I kept thinking about what makes me happy…

I wanted a space dedicated to my desk. After working on makeshift spaces for 2 years it felt so nice to have a dedicated work space.

I wanted to be by the garden window so I can see the flowers and watch nature about it’s business. I have seen lots of birds and a few squirrels this Spring and Summer.

I wanted the right storage too. Working from home, studying and the blog all result in lots of things I need to put away. I wanted them to have a home. I’ve got the Kallax unit from IKEA with cupboards, drawers and box storage. It’s perfect!

I’ve been doing a bit of a Autumn clean in preparation for the impending season. I love Autumn, it’s my favourite and I want to start it with a clutter free office area (and mind too).

Anyone else feel more productive if their environment is less cluttered?

Coronavirus – changing our plans for Easter

Coronavirus – changing our plans for Easter

Well, I am sure we are not the only family to be affected by the news this week: non essential travel is banned for 30 days and the kids are off school (with no end date) due to the Coronavirus. It's such a daunting time. In less than 2 weeks, we had planned to go to Dubai to visit friends. It's crazy to think how this has all transformed in such a short space of time. I know it's important and I understand why, don't get me wrong, but what a shock for the system! With that in mind, I am planning on covering a lot of ideas and resources over the next week to help other families in a similar situation. VIEW the POST

Dealing with Chicken Pox abroad as a family #ChickenPox

We’ve had our fair share of illnesses this school term. It started with the good ole sickness bug and has just ended with both children having their turn with Chicken Pox. Both completely immobilising for quite different reasons. Before Noah had chicken pox I had absolutely no idea that you are prevented from flying. We booked our holiday to Greece 3 weeks before we left and Noah came down with Chicken Pox 7 days before we flew! VIEW the POST

Could you be suffering from a food intolerance without knowing it?

I recently received some very good advice from Alexis Poole, she is the Spoon Guru Company’s Nutritionist & Registered Associate Nutritionist. She knows a lot about our bodies and what might cause them to do odd things. We often experience aches and pains and after some paracetamol, generally, the feelings pass. However, have you ever thought that your troubles could actually be caused by a food intolerance? This post includes some great tips on how to spot food intolerance with migraines, tummy pains and tiredness and how any ingering health issues could potentially be solved with just a simple change to your diet.

You can’t be poorly as a parent!

You can’t be poorly as a parent!

Obviously you can be, but I think any parent will know what I mean with my title. Yes the past six days have been a challenge for me and for Daddy too, and for Nanny for that matter. It really is impossible to do "doc's" orders and rest up.  VIEW the POST

How children can enjoy Winter – thanks to Biocare

For every parent, the first major challenge is getting children back to school after the long summer break, with all that freedom and opportunities for extra time in bed, something I have to look forward to! Easily the second challenge is keeping them there all term without the disruption of sick days. Notoriously, children spread bugs like wildfire and when they arrive en masse in September, coinciding with the inevitable change in the weather, that’s when the fun begins. However, top professional supplement specialist BioCare® has other ideas…
