If I was a….

This took me forever to make but I loved doing it. I love being creative and I learnt to use CapCut which Isla absolutely loves. She squealed when I showed her this.

I have the template (which I might blog about as the one I followed wasn’t quite accurate) and I have a few sneaky ways of doing things!

I’ve loved seeing everyone else’s version of this and so I had to do my own! And I wouldn’t change a thing…

What would you be? 🥰

Is there anything more relaxing and calming than this view? The sun setting over the sea and the calmness in the sea too.

Made me smile looking back at my Summer photos today. I’ve had a day of “cosy” as I drank far too much last night at my friends 40th party… I danced all night and walked home with bare feet. The signs of a good night!

I’ve not been out and danced in years. I literally can’t remember the last time I did that! It was a nice break from being Mum & Dad. Letting your hair down is sometimes the best medicine from a stressful few weeks.

What do you do to unwind?

I think it’s really important to love the space where you work, for you spend a long time working in it! When designing my home office area I kept thinking about what makes me happy…

I wanted a space dedicated to my desk. After working on makeshift spaces for 2 years it felt so nice to have a dedicated work space.

I wanted to be by the garden window so I can see the flowers and watch nature about it’s business. I have seen lots of birds and a few squirrels this Spring and Summer.

I wanted the right storage too. Working from home, studying and the blog all result in lots of things I need to put away. I wanted them to have a home. I’ve got the Kallax unit from IKEA with cupboards, drawers and box storage. It’s perfect!

I’ve been doing a bit of a Autumn clean in preparation for the impending season. I love Autumn, it’s my favourite and I want to start it with a clutter free office area (and mind too).

Anyone else feel more productive if their environment is less cluttered?

Everything feels a little uphill at the moment! Don’t you think?

Noah has been especially all over the place this week. One minute happy and next minute shouting at me! Because obviously it was me that stole his PE shorts after his lesson 🤷🏼‍♀️

We keep getting into conversations that just blow up. I’m not sure what is it but I’m hoping we can sort it out soon. It gets to 5 o clock and we start saying devices down, as dinner is nearly ready, and they’re behaviour changes.

I think we might have to go back to basics. Bedtime routines & no device babysitters after school. I am hoping he is tired which is causing him to feel a bit more frustrated than normal.

Lots of emotions this week. I feel sad about The Queen. A bit worried about the changes ahead. Work has been busy & I had a busy week for uni too. So maybe there’s a bit on me to just take a breathe!

Do you ever have days like this? I feel like I need a day where I’m not near other humans… 😂

💦 It feels like I lifetime ago I was watching this water baby jumping in the pool. Over and over. We played volleyball, aqua fit and did lots of swimming.

Since getting back from holiday (and now my assignment is out of the way) I’m concentrating on my fitness. I hate the way I feel and I hate the way I look! And only I can do something about it.

Not that I want to strut around on social media in my bikini or anything. But it would be nice not to feel sluggish and embarrassed about my waist.

I went for my first run in months yesterday and yoga today burnnnnnnned. My legs are on fire. Even my knees. 😂 I’m nearly 40… I need to get fit!

No pain no gain!

Any fitness tips for me? 🧘‍♀️

Queen Elizabeth II was such an inspiration. Her dedication to the Country and her family was just incredible. She worked right up until the end and did it with a huge smile.

She was a role model for me, demonstrating morals with such grace. Her dedication will never be forgotten over her 70 year reign.

I love the thought of her now up there with her beloved Prince Philip. Their relationship was amazing to see, their love was so strong and we could see it’s effects on her after she lost him. Now they can be together. That must give us some comfort.

I love this quote from Queen Elizabeth II:

“Grief is the price we pay for love”. 👑💔

Thoughts are with the Queens family and our trust now lies with the new King, King Charles III. God save the King!

Feeding your pets the right amount

Feeding your pets the right amount

It is very easy to just throw food in a bowl, any kind of food without a real thought as to how much your little furbabies (pets) need and whether the food is the right food for them. With our recent scare with Snoopy things have changed dramatically at home: we weigh out both dogs foods accurately now and we have started feeding them half of their allowance in the morning and the other half in the evening. Instead of all at one go. Hill's have created a perfect Petwise infographic which explains some very useful tips on how to feed your pet the ideal weight. VIEW the POST

#CountryKids – Farm fun at Thurleigh

Last weekend we took a trip to Thurleigh Farm, there was a break in the rain and miserable weather - so we grabbed it with both hands. We have a year family pass, so making the most of these afternoons at the farm is a lot of fun - seeing the animals, tractor rides, soft play and the adventure playground means that there is a lot to do. Fun at Great Grandmas

This week Noah had loads of fun at Great Grandmas and so did Isla for that matter. Firstly Noah fed the fishes, he loves it at my grandmas because her back garden ends at the riverside – so you can walk to the bottom of the garden and feed the ducks, watch the fish and the dog walkers on the other side. Its Noahs favourite place I think – he adores feeding the ducks. The ducks were not there this week, so he had to make do with just feeding the fish in grandmas pond, which he also enjoyed. He was really good at feeding them, he picked up the individual pellets and placed them into the pond so delicately. It was quite amusing and took rather a long time, but he was enjoying himself, so what the hey! The fish were hiding at the back of the pond though,…

Pom-Bear: New Flavours Prawn Cocktail & Smoky Bacon

Pom-Bear: New Flavours Prawn Cocktail & Smoky Bacon

Noah was a very lucky little man last week, when we were sent some of the new fabulous Pom Bears, Smoky Bacon and Prawn Cocktail. If you are not aware Pom-Bear is a range of teddy shaped snacks, which are a tasty and trusted treat. They came at a perfect time in the Constant household as we have just started letting Noah feed himself... Having his Pom-Bears at lunchtime has been perfect. He eats them really well and bites them bit by bit, so they seem to last longer than normal snacks.Mummy's favourite has been the new prawn cocktail flavour, they are really yummy and I must admit I always eat them by biting their heads off first. Noah & Daddy have proffered the smoky bacon flavour and they seem to have gone pretty quickly... They certainly have been a massive hit in the Constant household.Everyone who has ...

Noah is feeding himself

I’ve never had a problem feeding Noah, he lets me feed him with a spoon/fork, no problemo… I have never really questioned this method until recently when I suddenly thought to myself maybe a bit of independence wouldn’t hurt him. When baby número 2 swings by it will be nice if Noah can feed himself and be a “big boy”, so that mummy can be feeding newborn or dealing with what ever demands are on me at the time. I can imagine breast feeding and Noah feeding would be quite a pickle! Especially if we have the whole baby cries – Noah is going to cry situation going on. Fingers crossed we don’t get that. Noah has always been pretty good at feeding himself food with his fingers, I have no worries about his hand/eye coordination but when it comes to using a fork to pick things up or a…
