I think this might be my new favourite view… onboard my SUP! 🔵🔴

After 4.5 hours of paddling yesterday, on my first paddleboarding adventure, my thighs and shoulders have decided to disown me today. But, no pain no gain.

I’m looking forward to taking her out on some shorter trips, in the golden hours and taking a book to read on my pitstop.

I have learnt how to get the SUP inflated and deflated, I managed to fold it up into its bag too! It’s like getting a tent back in its original packaging- it never goes back exactly how it came out! 😂

My top tip for any SUP beginners is to find a slow moving river or lake to practice without a strong current.

A little reel of my first paddleboard trip along the river. On my very own beautiful paddleboard too! It was meant to be pink, but the red and blue is perfect. We paddled for 4 hours in total, around the river in Cambridgeshire.

We stopped at Houghton Lock for a picnic and it was so peaceful. I love being out on the river. Albeit I was quite nervous I would fall in, I didn’t. Phew.

I did a combo of stand up paddleboarding, kneeling and sitting to get a rowing rhythm going when I needed it. The wind was against us on the way, which felt hard. But it helped on the way back.

I’m in love with days like this. So beautiful and I felt present, watching the dragonflies, butterflies and even the otters. It’s such a wonderful activity to practice mindfulness and also a spot of yoga. Lots of Table Top positions!

I can’t wait to get out on the river again! Have you tried paddleboarding before?

Devon you were amazing ☀️ We try to get down to North Devon at least once a year. We love the beaches and the beautiful villages along that stretch of coastline.

It was a great week of family time, lots of sun and sea. We felt like we had gone to Spain with the weather. Daddy and the kids camped the week before and had a stunning week of sunshine too.

I managed to read two books and I even went for a swim in the sea 😂 It was nice to have a week of doing not much.

It took us 6 hours to get home. My road trip consisted of multiple stops though as I had the dogs with me. So, I didn’t think it was that bad. Yes, I know it’s quicker to get to actual Spain 😂

Have you ever been down to Devon?

The views yesterday were absolutely stunning. Woolacoombe you didn’t disappoint.

The sea was so calm, which I loved but the kiddies wanted waves to bodyboard through. I actually went in the sea. It was quite warm in the shallows.

As the sun reached near its setting place the reflection on the sea was mesmerising. I could have sat there all evening.

More beach days please 🙏🏻 Have you been to the beach this Summer?

A fun family quick question game: Hedbanz

A fun family quick question game: Hedbanz

I love this game and so do the kiddies. We get everyone to play it with us when they come round too. It's a quick fire round game where you have to guess what is on your head band. Clues in the name of the game (Hedbanz)... It's really quick paced, fun and gets the children to think creatively about how they might ask questions.  VIEW the POST

Getting organised with work and hobbies using Trello

I thought it was about time I started sharing some of my tips on how I keep organised with my work and my hobbies. Both at work and at home, I use Trello – it can used in a browser or on an app. I have it on my iPhone, iPad and work computer using the browser. It is so easy to use and updates in real time, so you can flip between devices quickly.

Spring time stationery with pastels and golds

Spring time stationery with pastels and golds

I love Spring time, it is my favourite season of them all and I probably said that about Autumn too. I love the colours, the sunnier weather, the breathe of fresh air and the feeling of cleanliness. Everything just seems clean, the Spring clean must just get under my skin and inspires me. Not only do I love Spring, but I love stationery. What better way to combine some of my favourite things. Katie Leamon cards have put a huge smile on my face today as they are just the most beautiful cards and notecards.  VIEW the POST

Easter with Clintons

Clinton Cards have some wonderful Easter goodies in stock at the moment and we were sent some of the products to review, just in time for the Easter weekend. We were sent a cute little Easter basket, with a lovely yellow bag, 2 different types of Easter cards, some Lindt bunnies, a cute little Easter cake and some of those tiny little chicks that make you say “ahh”. Clintons are encouraging crafts with the kids this Easter and getting them to embrace their creative side, unfortunately with Noah being quite young he doesn’t quite understand the stick and glue, colouring and making just yet – but it was great to see that there are fab products out there as next year we will definitely be at the forefront of the Clintons queue and everyone will be getting Noah made products for Easter – just a warning to the family! The…
