Today’s keyword for the January photo challenge day 8, is “mindful”.   #mindful to me is about being in the present… that moment. Like this photo, we all walked the dogs but I was living the moment. I was thinking about the children and listening to their conversation. I was with them! Sometimes I find it hard to find complete mindfulness because there’s a trillion things that zoom through my mind. Here are some ways I let go of my thoughts so I can be more present in the moment:

1️⃣ I write about my feelings, to stop them overwhelming me. Sometimes in an email (which I then delete) or sometimes on a post it! It depends if it needs a follow up or not.

2️⃣ I use lots of lists to remember things so they don’t actively whirl around my head. My favourite digital list app is @trelloapp (I’ve written about that on the blog) and I have lots of list stationery. All over my house!

3️⃣ I have set up calendar reminders for things that I often forget. Like pills, school clubs or particular events. I am rubbish at remembering.

4️⃣ Actively seeming to be with the kiddies and enjoying the moments. Encouraging conversations and listening in on them. Instead of daydreaming about the dreamy bath I saw on Instagram… it’s hard not to let those thoughts creep in.

January photo challenge

Thank you for joining in with this photo challenge in 2018, I love it! It is quite addictive. I hope more people get involved this year. I love the subjective element to the photo challenge. Everyone’s perspective of the theme of the day is different. It has made me smile seeing all of the images so far. I am very excited about doing a round up of my favourites. Thank you so much for the support in my latest adventure

Here are the January prompts as a reminder, I would love for you to join in. Take a look at the photos that have been uploaded so far #mummyphotoaday.

Get the right tags

In order to join you will need to use the hashtag #mummyphotoaday and link to @mummyconstant if you can. That way I can include the photos in the round ups. Also, other people that are joining in will be able to find your photos too.
