How do you destress after a family holiday? #holidayfromyourholiday

I recieved a beautiful package last week, I love surprises like these, including my own personalised mummyconstant tote bag and some goodies inside that couldn’t have come at a better time. We recently came back from a family holiday in Norfolk and to top it off hubby has just gone away for a lads weekend, leaving me to do everything that we both normally do and organise Isla’s third birthday celebrations. Yes, a destress is definitely needed.

So, it’s started off with a bubbly bath full of beautiful scents and a steam filled room, an episode of Game of Thrones on my iPad and a cup of green tea with honey. Perfect. It was lovely to just sit in the bath and smell the beautiful scents of the fizz bar. I love it. It looks like a little chocolate bar, it was really easy to break off the segments too so I can use it over a few baths too. The Yankee candle scent has to be my favourite so far: beach hut. Its devine and brings back fantastic memories of our beach holidays.

The smell of new and lovely products always makes me smile and having an excuse to pamper myself, even if at home, is just lovely. After the busyness that is holidaying with small children it is nice to slow down. You think holiday and you think relaxing sunshine break, basking by the side of the pool – well I do anyway and since having the children it is anything but that. It’s what activities can we do today, where can we go with the children and the dogs to keep all four of them entertained. More importantly, what is the weather going to be like over teh week so the activities can be planned accordingly. Then over the course of the day the usual children bickering, making sure the dogs do not run off in one direction and children in the other, mealtimes and of course settling down in new surroundings for bedtime. Don’t get me wrong we have fabulous days together, like our trip to Horsey Gap to spot the seals, but they are very tiring. Oh to lie down and bask in the sunshine or sit and watch the clouds float by. I think that’s why I love the photo of Isla above, she just looks so happy.

What do you do to destress from your holidays? Or do you not need to? How much would you love to receive a beautiful gift like this, I am very grateful to Al Fresco holidays for their thoughtful package and giving me a holiday from my holiday. I would love to hear in the comments below:
