It’s all about #balance. Today has been exhausti

It’s all about #balance. Today has been exhausting. I think the effects of the weekend kicked in and all day I wanted to sleep. But I managed to get through it: homeschooling complete, dogs walked and work finished. Now it’s bath time.

I took this photo as I walked up the stairs. I love the brightness of the bathroom. We had spotlights fitted last week and they’ve changed the feel of the room completely. I can actually see things in the bathroom now.

We also have a nice and shiny light switch handle. It’s been a 45 year old piece of string since we moved in and now it’s a new shiny handle that matches our bathroom taps.

I’ve started watching Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector. I’m gripped. I loved the movie and this is a more in depth dive into the story. Thank you @skytv. I’m watching the next episode in the bath, whilst I soak my aching back and soak up the Rose aroma from the bubble bath.

Balance.

I’ve been looking through photos of previous wee

I’ve been looking through photos of previous weeks, when the sun has been shining and the kiddies have been wearing large smiles. Nothing makes me happier than seeing these two happy.

Thank you so much for the lovely messages and kind words for Noah. He is doing much better and fingers crossed the pain goes soon. He said he was glad to be home and that he’d missed his pets. He loves his furbabies. He snuggled with Snoopy all afternoon.

I cannot wait until we can get back to our morning routine; dog walk and explore of our local #parks. We are so lucky to live near some great places for adventures. Fingers crossed his tummy is a bit better tomorrow and we can get out for some fresh air and smiles. It’s as effective as medicine.

I had a lovely afternoon with Hubby celebrating ou

I had a lovely afternoon with Hubby celebrating our wedding anniversary, however when we got home it all changed. We got home to a poorly Noah, who was crying and in a lot of pain. He pointed to the right of his abdomen.

After a call to 111, they advised we take him to A&E. His symptoms seemed to get worse over the period of our journey to hospital. He kept telling me he was faint, his eyes rolled around his head, he was crying with the pain and just seemed quite out of it.

As soon as we got to A&E the doctor said he’s worried it’s his appendix. They did all the usual tests: ECG, blood work, urine and abdominal checks. It was horrible watching them put a cannula in his arm. Made me feel faint myself. We had to see a surgeon who did more checks and he was confident it wasn’t his appendix. However they couldn’t be sure.

They gave Noah Calpol about 9:45pm and within minutes he was sick all over the floor. They decided to give him paracetamol via drip and we waited for his blood test results. He seemed to settle after he was sick and the medicine obviously helped as he was able to sleep whilst we waited.

His blood was normal, as were all his tests. The doctor called the paediatrician to assess him as we couldn’t be sure to rule out his appendix. The paediatrician admitted him overnight as she couldn’t assess him properly. Noah said it was still painful and you could see his discomfort when they pressed his tummy, even though he was asleep.

So, Noah and I spent the night at hospital. He woke up feeling much brighter, more like Noah again. He’s managed to eat and keep drink down. They let us go home mid morning after they were confident he’s not got appendicitis. The doctor said she can feel bubbling gas trapped in his tummy which will be causing the pains, this has been caused by a bug or virus.

As you can imagine, I am extremely grateful to the NHS. They could see Noah was in extreme pain when we arrived and he was seen immediately. The doctors all thorough and kind. I had no doubt my baby was in the best of hands. Thank you NHS.

It was about this time, 11 years ago, we had just

It was about this time, 11 years ago, we had just said the famous words “I do” and we walked out of this church into our new lives: #together.

I remember this day like it was yesterday. The emotions, the nerves, the excitement, the wow’s as I saw all my family and friends in their best frocks. Everyone looked amazing. It was just so perfect to have all of our friends and family, together.

We even had some special guests at our wedding too; our beautiful god daughter, Freya, who was less than a month old and Esmè who was a little bundle of gorgeousness too. Such happy memories looking back.

I do wish we could get married again, let the kiddies be a part of it and friends we have made since 11 July 2009. Maybe there’s a rather large party to be planned for our 20th anniversary. Or something!

Thank you for a fabulous 11 years Hubby. Our beautiful family. I’m proud to be Mrs Constant (Mrs Mummy Constant).

In amongst all the #chaos we are grabbing the calm

In amongst all the #chaos we are grabbing the calmer moments with both hands, when we can. I am so hopeful the weather will change tomorrow and brighten up.

We’ve had a week of DIY, school and work. It’ll be nice to have time to chill in the garden over the weekend. With a little sun shine on our cheeks.

There’s nothing better than a beautiful sky, fluffy white clouds and a golden sun glowing over the landscape.

It’s our 11th wedding anniversary tomorrow, I’m hoping the weather holds out so we can go out for a nice walk!

I’ve been busy today, I love #diy Thursday. I us

I’ve been busy today, I love #diy Thursday. I usually end up doing something on my days off, albeit it’s been out in the garden more recently. With the rain today, an inside project was just perfect.

Not the most Instagram worthy photo but it’s my DIY! Can you see what I added to the kitchen today?

I covered 2 of our worktops with DC Fix vinyl that I bought from @createyourworldltd. It’s completely transformed the look of the kitchen. You can see the before hand if you scroll through the images.

It took me some time to achieve both of these areas, namely because of the fiddly edges. Apart from that it was incredibly easy to use. I would recommend the DC Fix kit if you are going to do this. I had the right tools and it helped me a lot. The craft knife tool is essential.

I measured what I needed, cut the basic shape with scissors. Then used the cushioned smoother to rub the vinyl down onto the surface, inch by inch to make sure the air wasn’t trapped. I started at one end and methodically worked my way across the worktop.

I have the sink area to do but we need to extend the worktop before I start this area. And next we have a splash back to go where the tiles are. I’m very excited. It’s going to look so different.

Do you remember the yellow and brown colours of this room from a year ago? You wouldn’t think it was the same kitchen. It looks beautiful with the Cool Beans Al Fresco cupboards, thanks @frenchicpaint.

I do love a bit of DIY.

We have a new front door! Well, I painted the old

We have a new front door! Well, I painted the old brown plastic door. There have been some things that have niggled me since we moved in to this house; the dark brown front door colour, the old stone fireplace, the huge front garden full of large bushes. We have plans for all of it, it’s just deciding what to do and when.

I tackled the front door at the weekend. I used my favourite @frenchicpaint Al Fresco paint. The colour is wise old sage and I adore it. It brightens up the front of the house so much.

What do you think?

I have just ordered some new paint, Smudge, and my next plan is to paint the windows. We have mix match windows so the paint will make them look consistent. Until we can afford to get new.

As you may have seen in my stories today, the fireplace has been removed. We’ve had the cooker hood installed and it’s made such a difference to the kitchen. We’ve also had some finishing touches to the bathroom. A few things knocked off the to do list, a huge thank you to my Mum’s partner.

Next steps for the fireplace is to have it plastered. Next steps for our front #garden is we’re thinking of making a parking space where the bushes are to make it easier to park both our cars. Lots to do! But it’s so much fun and satisfying making these changes.

A day at the beach, is my favourite kind of day. W

A day at the beach, is my favourite kind of day. When the sun is shining. I don’t mind if it’s a Summers day or a Winter sunny day. I love the sound of the waves crashing against the beach and the wind rustling the long grass on the dunes.

The kiddies have even started going to the beach, with Daddy, in the rain to swim in the sea. I love their mentality. I wish I had a little more of it sometimes...

Did you see my new blog post about the @tesalate #sand-free towel? The kids use it when they’ve been swimming and I use it when I’m basking!

No more trips home with a car full of sand. It simply slides off. It’s quite amazing. Read more about it on my blog, link in bio.

It’s all about #balance. Today has been exhausting. I think the effects of the weekend kicked in and all day I wanted to sleep. But I managed to get through it: homeschooling complete, dogs walked and work finished. Now it’s bath time.
