Now I know my little ones are little, not teenagers for a while, but the thought of them going out and about playing near the train tracks when they get older - scares me so much! When we were kids our parents used to tell us that when they were kids they had to make their own fun. These days thereโs no need. Weโre months, at most a couple of years, away from affordable quality virtual reality. There are videogames that simulated galaxies that are literally bigger than our own galaxy. Kids are growing up in an age when they have access to every single book, comic, song movie, and TV show ever made, plus all of YouTube (well all of YouTube we havenโt slapped a parental lock, but itโs only a matter of time until they crack that). Today, as you may have seen all over the news, the Flying Scotsman took a trip from London's Kings Cross to York. It all started at 8:45am when I got a text from my Mumma saying she was waiting at the end of her road to see it whoosh by. The NSPCC has been announced as the official charity partner for the Virgin Money London Marathon 2016 โ a year that also marks 30 years of the charityโs ChildLine service. Theyโre asking our runners to raise ยฃ2.3 million to help them recruit and train more counsellors to reduce waiting times and ensure they can provide support to every child who needs them, however and whenever they choose to get in touch.
