Being a parent, you are always worried if your child is getting proper sleep. A child needs to have proper sleep as their physical and mental growth depends on it. On the other hand, uncomfortable sleep leads to different health issues and disorders in kids, such as irritability and hyper behavior, lack of concentration and attention during learning, and weight gain. Making bedtime easier is every one's goal!

Recently, with lockdowns and a lot of life changes, we have got out of routine. Somedays seem harder than others and the children's behaviour goes from brilliant to frustrated and tired quite quickly. We have explored a lot of ways to try and bring a little more routine and happiness to our days. One of my favourite changes is bringing back bedtime reading and In the book have helped us do this.

Getting your little ones to sleep can be a struggle every night when it comes to bed time. Whether they have too much energy in them to sleep, the room is too light or they just donโt have a good daily routine having your kid fight the need for sleep can be stressful and annoying. One of my silver linings of Lockdown is the time to review things as a family. Understanding how much sleep your kids needs is also important, finding out can be a great place to start.
We have always struggled with our bedtime routine, well we have since Isla has been around. She does not like to sleep. We thought, as the children got older, that the bedtime routine would get easier. It hasn't really and so we have to try lots of different things to help get through those bedtime anxieties. I have written down some things we did when the kiddies were babies and what we do now, incase this helps any one going through similar.

It's no secret that Isla has been a terrible sleeper, right from day 1. I have to be honest, we are not great at keeping that bedtime routine. But, on the evenings where we do have a routine and a calm one, they go to bed a lot better. Obvious, I know. But when you have dance clubs, cubs, football training, homework, reading and just life to add into the mix - it's hard to keep to a strict routine.
