Bottle Week: MAM Anti Colic

I was lucky enough to be sent a MAM Manual Pump to review when I was pregnant with Isla, the manual pump came with a green MAM anti colic bottle to capture the milk that you have expressed. I say I'm lucky I was sent the pump because I would never have come across the bottles, they are absolutely fantastic and by far the best bottles I have ever used. They are so easy to use, the anti colic system is fantastic and really helped with Isla. I am in a firm routine with the bottles now, I never have any trouble washing them and they fit in the steriliser too. The other really good thing about these bottles is that they self sterilise!!! This has come in extremely handy over the weeks. The teat shape was perfect for Isla – she was happiest feeding from this shaped teat and…

Bottle Week: Tommee Tippee

Bottle Week: Tommee Tippee

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature range has been a range we used since Noah was born, we still use the bottles and steriliser today and can honestly say that the bottles have been really good - hard wearing, comfortable to hold, easy for baby to hold and easy to keep clean. The bottles designed for 0+ are designed specifically for ease of swapping from breast to bottle, to make it easier to combine feed. With Noah I bottle fed from after week 1 as we both didn't get on with breastfeeding as you may remember. My mum had brought us the Tommee Tippee bottles and steriliser as a gift before Noah arrived and so we felt lucky to have them around when we realised that Noah would be fed better by the bottle. I used the Tommee Tippee electric breast pump with these bottles and it worked really well, the bottles ...

Bottle Week: Vital Baby Nurture Range

Bottle Week: Vital Baby Nurture Range

Vital Baby sent us 2 of their Nurture Breast-Like-Feeding-Bottles to try out with little Isla. The teat is extremely flexible due to the patented FlexZone technology that Vital Baby use to make sure that it provides the most comfort for your baby. This is the only bottle I have seen on the market that really does has the resemblance of a breast. The pattern on the teat, the roundness and shape of the teat itself really looks like a breast and the feel of the teat is soft and flexible which makes it also feel like a breast, it is made from medical grade silicone. The bottles were developed to help support us mums that breastfeed and it meant that we could successful express milk so that Daddy could feed Isla sometimes. The Nurture bottles have been developed with an anti colic AirFlow system which means that there is less risk ...

Bottle Week: Dr Browns Newborn Kit

Dr Browns are the only bottles that offer a fully vented, vacuum free bottle, which helps to relieve babies suffering with colic and as you know Isla had this in her first few months. We were sent the fabulous Newborn Starter Kit, which contains: microwave steriliser with tongs, 3 x 240ml bottles , 2 x 120ml bottles , 2 x level 2 teats , 2 x level 3 teats , bottle brush and 2 x travel caps. It retails at £49.95 and you can buy it here: http://www.breastpumps.co.uk/acatalog/Gift_Set.html. So how does the vent system work in these bottles? When babies are given a bottle of milk they suck it through the teat. As the milk leaves the bottle, air enters in through the vent to take the place of the milk. Dr Browns bottles have a patented internal vent that allows the air to enter and directs it to the…
