On the eve of thanksgiving it’s definitely got my thinking about what I’m #grateful for. These 5 are at the top of my list, of course so is my cat, I absolutely love my familam.

My babies have done me proud this year. They’ve shown resilience, compassion, kindness and above all patience. Someone said to me today that because I am all of those things: I will embed this into my kids foundations. I’d never thought about this before.

It made me feel proud. Of myself and Hubby. We’re raising these somewhat feral tiny humans into well grounded and thoughtful people.

They embrace everything that is thrown at them and for that I will always be grateful.

What are you feeling grateful for at the moment?

On the eve of thanksgiving...

Although you probably wouldn’t think it, to look at me because I always dress quite conservatively, I love a #pattern. Bold. Striking. Daring.

When we bought this house last year I knew I wanted bold flooring where possible and so far it’s going well. This is our beautiful flooring from @harveymaria - it’s a luxury vinyl tile that just looks amazing and feels nice to walk on too. This particular pattern is “Lattice Tarn” from the Dee Hardwicke range.

This room is the utility and sees a lot of traffic throughout the day. Muddy football boots... muddy paw prints... dog food... dirty laundry... the list goes on. But, it is so easy to wipe clean that it always looks brand new again.

I can’t wait to show it off properly and do a before and after reels of our utility room. I’ve also got some shots of how it was installed (professionally made I add).

It’s turned a room I didn’t care about into a room I love. I might just get an armchair for the utility room next, so I can sit and stare at it a little more!

#gifted. I was gifted this flooring from Harvey Maria. I’ve tagged @harveymaria so please do check out their other fantastic patterns.

Anyone else feel like their bones are blocks of ice? Or is it just me. Yesterday was so mild, yet I still had my coat and bobble hat on. Today felt like I woke up in Antarctica.

I really feel the #cold and I’ve noticed that more so whilst I’ve been working from home. I think the difference in the office is that I walked around more. Walked for meetings, coffee and to speak to people. Nowadays I click to meetings and speaking to people... I wish I could click for coffee too 🙈. Lazy!!!

So, my plan is to do more walking throughout the day. Even if I walk around the house, picking up the 98,000 odd socks that get thrown around, in between meetings; should warm me up a bit.

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

Despite my frozeness today I did enjoy seeing the frost this morning. It was just beautiful. The crispy autumn floor and mist across the field, it looked magical. And made me feel quite Christmassy!

Speaking of which... just over a month until Christmas 😱🎄🎅🏼🧑🏻‍🎄🤶🏻🎁 Whose ready?

I’ve not even started yet...🤭

Anyone else feel like their...

Isla has been busy this weekend... she had a queue of customers lining up for their hair appointments. She’s been busy since this lockdown started 🤭

On a more serious note, she really does love this set from @vippetsofficial . She spent ages combing their hair, styling and making them sparkle.

This set has an interactive sink, that pumps water out onto the dolls hair. It has a styling chair in the middle with a hidden drawer of accessories. And, the main surprise, the glitterizer (hair dryer dome) at the far end. You put your doll into the glitterizer and it spins around allowing the glitter to fall over the hair. (You use a special glue on the hair before hand).

This is the VIP Pets Hair Salon play set and we think it’s perfect for any child who loves playing with hair. A great Christmas gift! From @zuru.toys and @vippetsofficial

We went for a walk this afternoon, without the dogs, just us hooomans! It was strange not walking with the pattering of paws, however we did walk a lot quicker. Daddy took the dogs out this morning, they can’t manage more than 1 big walk a day now 🐾

We walked a route that involves this rather huge hill, you can see all the surrounding villages on a clear day. That sunshine was just beautiful beaming down on us. It painted the #landscape a golden colour. Everything looked so beautiful.

We managed a 2 hour walk, well just shy of, considering the kiddies complained beforehand (and we agreed a half an hour walk) I was impressed. Once they’re out they have fun and enjoy it. The thought of it doesn’t appeal to them though.

That’s how I feel about the ironing! 🤣

Did anyone else get out in the Autumnal sunshine?

We went for a walk...

I love this photo. Not only because of the beautiful blue skies and fluffy clouds. The sunshine sparkling on the top of the water. And, the #boats that look like their lining up in their best formation.

But, for the fact that the kiddies are hiding a huge chain that had one end going into the sand, where the kiddies were standing, and the other attached to a boat.

They pulled the chain with all their might. Much to the amusement of Daddy and I, the kids believed that every time they pulled: they were pulling the boats towards us.

They were in-fact doing nothing of the kind and it was the tide making the boats move. Which looked like they were moving towards us.

They spent a good half an hour trying to pull a boat in. Obviously it didn’t work.

It was so lovely to soak up the scene though. It’s such a beautiful view. I really love how it all fits together and the mountain hugging the edge of the water.

It would make for a very beautiful painting.

With less than 5 weeks to Christmas Day.... yes 5!! I’m starting to get organised. I have my Christmas lists on the go, wrapping paper stocking up, crafts at the ready and my 2020 Christmas mug of choice (of course).

I think we’ll be putting the tree up soon, I want to wait but I’m not sure I can! It makes the house feel so cosy, with the dim twinkling lights and cute decorations.

I LOVE nutcrackers and I get an addition every year. This year it’s my mug. It is in the photo but you can’t see it too clearly. I’ll show him off don’t you worry!

I am also so excited to announce that my Christmas advent competitions will be back this year, from 1st December, I have prizes worth over hundreds of pounds to give away! Make sure you follow #12daysofconstantchristmas so you don’t miss out...

Things to consider when flying with the family

Things to consider when flying with the family

When flying with the family I have a few anxieties, needless to say the current position across the world is not helping me at all. We have booked flights to Dubai and we are staying with friends and yes, we have travel insurance. But I am still full of fear. I thought writing out my worries and how I have overcome them may help other families in similar positions.  VIEW the POST

My Birthing Story – Do you have Husband and Mum in the delivery suite?

I recently saw a big topic over on mumsnet this week about who to have in the delivery suite with you. There is a debate over whether to have Mum, or partner and whether the partner would feel left out if the Mum went in with you. Well, I had both in the room with Noah, my first, and I am extremely glad I did have them both.

The difference in potty training your second

The difference in potty training your second

I was thinking about how different it has been going through the potty training process with Isla (my second) compared to Noah (my first) and it made me laugh. So I thought I'd write it up in the hope that other people have a giggle and relate or realise how stress free the second time round is.  With Noah I took a weeks annual leave to focus on potty training. With Isla I took no holiday!  With Noah I had toddler wipes, baby wipes, loo roll, training pads, pull ups and lots of talc to hand. With Isla she had knickers and loo roll.  With Noah I had Potty's all over the house in case he needed a wee. With Isla we had one, in one place which she made it to every time (so what was I worrying about with Noah?)  With Noah I made sure our journeys were short and we went ...

Low maintenance gardening

Low maintenance gardening

Gardening can often take up a lot of time and effort. With more people leading busy lives, the idea of a low maintenance garden is ever more appealing. Most people don’t have gardeners, so here are a few ideas to help you achieve gardening perfection with a minimum of effort.VIEW the POST

I know I am not the only one to worry…

From the very day you find out you are pregnant a million things will run through your head, it is an incredibly exciting time but it’s also a time when many of us will be looking to tighten those belts (money wise obviously, there’s not much hope of that happening with the bump in the way!) I always worry about money and how we will cope when the maternity pay kicks in, as I am sure many of you mummies-to-be and daddies-to-be do. One great way of getting some “help” is to use websites like mumandbabyonline who pride themselves on helping you to save those valuable pennies. Sign up to the newsletter; you fill out one simple form that in turn signs you up to other companies such as Boots, Hipp, Huggies and Pampers, giving you the opportunity to start saving straight away on all those essential baby needs. How…
