Yee-har pirates, buckle up and lets make a splash with this anchors away pirate ship from Little Tikes. The children absolutely adore it and it has so much to do. You couldn’t wish for a better water play table for the garden (or house if you’re feeling brave).

First things first, building it! I had planned to do it all myself before Daddy got home with the children and I even started to film a timelapse so you could follow how to build it, but unfortunately I couldn’t do it on my own. The legs for the table need to be screwed in to the pirate ship and because they screw through the plastic, I just simply couldn’t do it as I wasn’t strong enough. So Daddy did that bit. Then left me to do the fun parts which came together really easily. The rest of the bits either slot into place or just sit in the water. This water table is Β£79.99 from the Little Tikes website and can be found at lots of retailers across the country.

Isla’s favourite thing is to play with water, she can sit for hours sometimes with bowls playing around with water. Simply transferring the water from one bowl to another. So I knew this would be a winner with her and I wasn’t wrong. The fact it is a pirate themed table as well makes it all the more appealing to both the children. When they came home and saw it they eagerly sat and watched us build it and were so excited when it was carried out into the garden. I love how small things like this can give them so much pleasure, small things as in water. I am really impressed Little Tikes! The water table is fantastic.

What does it do?

So this table is full of fun things. Obviously the main thing being its a pirate shaped table, log style legs to hold it up and comes with little pirate figurines, a shark and a couple of boats. I thought this was a really nice touch. There is a plank, for walking the plank at one end of the ship and at the other end there is a wheel to steer the ship in the right direction. The children can play with the water and the figures. There are a couple of buttons which shoot water or create a waterfall and there is a working anchor too which Noah loves winding up and casting out. There are cups for making a splash with and they all fit together really well. There are bits that spin, rotate, click, shoot and wind – lots to do for the little ones. I also think it is a great table for toddlers as it will help them with finding balance and aid the walking process, I would have loved something like this when the kids were at that stage. It gives them a bit of independence and fun at the same time. All the children love coming to our house to play!
