A new move might not seem like a fresh start to begin with, but it sure is one when youโ€™re finally settled down and happy in your new home. The actual process of moving is pretty rough, especially if it is your first time and youโ€™re moving with a partner. Partners just seem to make everything worse all the time. But, if youโ€™re looking for a fresh start then hassle is the last thing that youโ€™re going to need. So, weโ€™ve got a few tips for you that should make the whole process easier, and will allow you to have that happy fresh start that you need.

Managing Your Move

Managing a move is the trickiest part, but if itโ€™s your first move then hopefully youโ€™ll have friends or family on hand to help you through the process. To begin with, you need to pack all of your things, and buy anything new that you might need to buy. Getting it all done before you actually move is going to take so much of the pressure away from you. This website shows a great moving company and how you can use them. If you need to, it might also be worth looking into storage if you are buying everything before your move. Thereโ€™s always going to be delays along the way that could stop you moving into your home so easily. Having that little backup is always going to be handy. You also need to make sure youโ€™re setting up new bills, or at least transferring them if youโ€™ve already owned a home before. Transferring is always hassle, so prepare for length phone calls and a lot of built up anger.

Settling In

Settling in is the most exciting part, and one that actually allows it to be a fresh start. Get to know the people around you by introducing yourself to neighbours, getting involved in local terms, or even doing things such as fundraising. If youโ€™re moving to a complete new area then something like this is what you should be focusing on. It can be easy to feel out of place when you truly donโ€™t know any one. If itโ€™s your first move with a family, you also need to think about things such as schools and which ones might be the best for your little family. There should be a few in your area to choose from, and you should be able to go on tours to see if you like them.

Letting It Be A Fresh Start

If you truly want it to be a fresh start, you really need to start a new life, completely. So, if you hate your job, move to a new one in your new area. If youโ€™ve always wanted to be part of a club, join one. A fresh start is about reinventing yourself and finding a life that youโ€™d actually like to lead. Thereโ€™s plenty of help guides online that will show you how to truly make sure a fresh start is a fresh start.

I’ve moved a couple of times & both have been within a few miles of each other so that helped the stress levels but it’s all the sorting out of services & the like that can’t be done until almost the day of moving that stressed me out a bit

That sounds less stressful. Iโ€™m so excited to move but we need to find a house first!
